February is here, bringing opportunities to celebrate kindness, friendship, and learning!

This month, we recognize our amazing school counselor, Mrs. Wood, during National School Counseling Week, February 3-7. We also want to give a big thank you to our School Resource Officer, Blake Davis, for all he does to keep our schools safe! We will celebrate him on School Resource Officer Day, February 15.

A friendly reminder that there will be no school on February 7, 14, 21, or 28. As we move through the semester, let’s do our best to be here each day because every school day matters! I also want to send well wishes to anyone who has been under the weather—I hope you’re starting to feel better!

March 3-6 - Read Across America Week

March 3 - Crestview Family Literacy Night (5:30-7:00)

March 10 - 3rd RLA Checkpoint (we will administer like a STAAR test day)

March 25 - 3rd Math Checkpoint (we will administer like a STAAR test day)

March 25-27 - Crestview Spring Portraits (1st Grade - 25th, 2nd Grade - 26th, 3rd Grade - 27th)

March 12 & 13 - TELPAS

April 9 - Class Pictures

April 15 - 3rd RLA STAAR

April 29 - 3rd Math STAAR

Each month, we hold two exciting drawings for each grade level!

Good Behavior Drawing: Teachers nominate students for displaying excellent behavior by adding their names to this drawing. When a student's name is selected, they get to choose one of the following rewards:

• Lunch with the Principal
• Lunch with the Assistant Principal
• Try-It Tuesday experience
• Treasure Box surprise

Reading Log Drawing: Students who are actively reading and completing their reading logs are entered into this drawing. Winners receive a special token to select a book from our Book Vending Machine!

These monthly drawings are a fun way to celebrate and encourage positive behavior and a love for reading!
