How do I access Everyday Math online materials as a Classroom Teacher through Canvas?
- Open any one of your 2021-22 Canvas courses that have been created through PowerSchool.
- Click on ConnectEd from the course navigation menu. Your may need to add ConnectEd to the course navigation. Go to Settings / Navigation / Save.
- Click on the thumbnail picture of the Everyday Math textbook labeled Teacher Edition. There is no need to redeem master codes. Everything has been set up for you.
- Accept User License Agreement.
How do I access Everyday Math online materials as a Classroom Teacher through Clever?
- Log into Clever.
- Look under the section labeled Math.
- Open the app labeled McGraw Hill.
What if I see a picture of a broken link and with no thumbnail pictures of textbooks when I log into EM4 through Canvas or Clever?
Submit a HelpDesk ticket.
What if I need access to more than one grade level? I am only seeing the textbook thumbnails pictures for one.
But what if I am not a Classroom Teacher?
How do my students access EM4 online materials?
- Publish at least one Canvas course. It doesn't necessarily need to be the one labeled Math.
- Have students open the Canvas course that you published. Have them choose ConnectED from the Course Navigation Menu.
Alternative:
- Log into Clever.
- Look under the section labeled Math.
- Open the app labeled McGraw Hill.
How do I set up the Planner?
Click new planner
Choose a Start Date and End Date
Select Non-Instructional Days
We got off schedule with the planner. How do I adjust?
- First, click on Menu. Then, click on Planner.
- Click on the cog and choose to either extend the lesson, move the lesson or change to a Non Teaching Day as needed.

We are waaay off with the Planner. How do I adjust?

- Adjust Start Date until anticipated lessons match your planner
- Save
📣. 2021-22 update! Lessons will no longer stack. You should have more flexibility this school year with editing your planner as needed.
Where do I find my class list?
- Go to Menu in upper left hand corner.
- Choose Class Management.
Yikes! I'm seeing a bunch of names of kids no longer in my class.
- Find student's name. Click Remove from Class.
- Keep removing students until your EM4 list matches your math class roster.
Aahhh! I'm not seeing any names under Class Management.
Click on the Profile button in the upper right hand corner to see your classes. Most teachers will see ONE class with the number of students next to it. Teachers of multi-age classrooms or who are teaching high ability math may see two class lists. Submit a technology help ticket for help getting rid of extra classes.
What does an Everyday Math lesson look like for students?
Why can't I print Journal pages from the EM4 Teacher Center?
What am I hearing about the new eJournal?
The games don't want to cooperate on the student iPads. What we should we do? We love the games!
- Turn on Request Desktop Website in Safari and see if that makes a difference. Settings --> Safari --> Request Desktop Website.
- If that still doesn't help, you might try Chrome browser instead.
- If the games are still not working, have students turn on Request Desktop Website in Chrome. Go to a tab --> three dots --> Request Desktop Website. You can also flip it back by clicking Request Mobile Site.
- These options may also help when troubleshooting other web-based tools as well.

- Talk to your Math Lead Teacher, Technology Lead Teacher, Media Specialist, or Instructional Coach.
- Submit a Technology HelpDesk ticket.
- Consider joining the University of Chicago Everyday Mathematics Virtual Learning Community. The signup process is lengthy, but most teachers agree that it's worth the effort.
