A Message from the Principal
Dear Greeley Families,
Now that Spring Break has come and gone, planning is underway for the next school year. This includes starting the processes for scheduling, hiring, and creating classroom rosters. As always, our staff wishes to review parent reflections as part of our larger classroom placement process. I strongly encourage families to read this message in its entirety before contacting the school with questions.
Please click here to access the electronic Parent Reflection Form that invites you to share your thoughts about your child and their school/home experiences. This form must be completed by Friday, April 26th. A separate invitation for feedback will be provided soon by The Skokie School for students entering the fifth grade.
We invite families to fill out the above form and share insights about their children. This can include anything that would be important for us to consider (particularly significant experience that is happening in your family, social dynamics that are top of mind, strengths and needs of your child, etc.). Given the many needs that must be balanced and our goal of fair and equitable treatment of all families, these reflections do not guarantee placement with certain teachers or friends. In the spirit of fair treatment of all families, requests for specific teachers will not be honored, nor do I meet with families to discuss placement.
Classroom rosters will be finalized and shared with families in late August, as we closely monitor the need to potentially add additional classrooms to accommodate student enrollment, staff members shift to different positions internally, etc. throughout the summer. Additionally, there are a few questions that seem to come up each year around placement. Please click this link to see some informative FAQs.
Sincerely,
Joshua Swanner
Principal

WINNETKA VOICES Season 2, Episode #5: Women in Leadership
March is Women’s History Month! Dr. Kelly Tess, Superintendent, is joined by three impactful women in our school community: Denise Dubravec, Winnetka Campus Principal/Assistant Superintendent at New Trier High School; Winnetka Public Schools alum Norah; and Marena Rudy, a Winnetka Public Schools Board Member. The women reflect on how they have been inspired and encouraged in order to lead with confidence. As Norah recognizes, “We have a lot of forward momentum.” We hope this episode serves as a glimpse into how we can support women and girls in their leadership ventures by modeling self-advocacy, curiosity and empathy.
