Hedgesville Middle School Families,
It was good to have our students back in school today, and following an extended holiday and building closure, we had a heat challenge. At some point in the weekend, a breaker tripped turning off the heat in the building so when students and staff arrived at school this morning, the building had varying degrees of heat. Prior to their arrival, I notified our maintenance team who immediately responded and restored power to the units, but a building of this size takes time to reheat.
Hedgesville Middle School is a building with age and character. Some parts of building are older than others and will take longer to respond to the heat being back on. I ask for your patience as our school re-heats. The forecast for this week calls for some chilly mornings. For individual comfort tomorrow and into the winter season, I would encourage our students and staff to consider dressing in layers.
My thanks to our students and staff for their patience and understanding. If you have concerns, please reach out to our school office.
Elizabeth Adams,
Principal
