Peakview Academy
at Conrad Ball - 2024-2025
SEPTEMBER 2024 NEWSLETTER
Hello PVA families!
Welcome to September at PVA!
We are very excited to begin the 24-25 school year, our SECOND YEAR as Peakview Academy at Conrad Ball! I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for all of the support that you all gave to make our first year as a new EC-8 school possible.
You may have already noticed some changes that we have made to make the 24-25 successful. Some updates are:
We open our doors at 8:00am for breakfast and then expect ALL learners to go immediately to their Community Classroom to enjoy their breakfast and settle in for their day, this includes middle level learners.
Families and guests are asked to bring their IDs each time they would like to check a child out of the budding. This is a security expectation across the Thompson School District, and we will be strictly adhering to this process in an effort to maintain safety for all of our learners.
Both middle level Explorations Blocks have been moved to the end of the day, rather than one at the beginning and one at the end of the day.
It was great to see so many of you at our Back-to-School Night on Aug. 13th!
I hope you were able to meet and mingle with fellow PVA learners and families, meet some of our incredible staff, and cool off with a popsicle!
These family and community events are so important to our culture at PVA - we encourage you all to attend when you are able, and we also welcome your feedback on how we can continue to create a strong connection with our whole community, and a welcoming environment for all.
You can help with this goal by joining us for our Peakview Community Team meetings, which occur on the second Tuesday of each month, 5:30 - 7:00 pm in our Collaboratory (Media Center). Please join us on Tuesday, Sept. 10th, 5:30-7:00 pm for our first meeting of the 24-25 school year!
We are also excited to host our 2nd Annual Lynx Laps Fun Run on Monday, Sept. 30th. Please watch out for important announcements regarding this school-wide fundraising and community event!
Your involvement in your child’s educational experience is extremely important! Please reach out to the Welcome Center or your child’s Classroom or Community Block teacher to find out how you can support your child’s success at school.
I look forward to partnering with each of you this year to see each of our learners reach their potential!

Student Fees
Student Fees
Do you qualify for Free & Reduced Meal Benefits?
ALL families are still asked to fill out an application. Why? The Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program is funded in partnership with federal nutrition programs that rely on income information to support meals for all students. Other state and federal grants are awarded based on free and reduced meal eligibility rates.
Additionally, families that qualify may receive discounted or waived fees for programs inside and outside of the school district.
Instructional Fees
The instructional materials fee is charged to each student annually. This money is utilized for buying textbooks and extracurricular materials for our school, replacing old materials, or replenishing items students use.
Middle Level Exploration Class Fees
These fees are charged to students participating in specific classes and activities. This fee is based on the cost of materials and supplies that have been depleted and need to be replenished.
Middle Level Athletic Fees
The Athletic fee helps to support referees, transportation, equipment and uniforms.
Tech4All Damage/Loss Fine
If a student's device gets lost or damaged and turned in for repair, any costs incurred will be charged to the student’s account.

Peakview Academy Student & Family Handbook 2024-2025
Within our short time so far as a school, we have worked hard to develop systems, structures, procedures, and policies that will support our school in being the best that it can be to achieve its vision and mission. As we have developed the systems, structures, procedures, and policies, we have created a PVA Student & Family Handbook for the 2024-2025 school year. Please review the handbook as necessary.
