Counselors' Corner
Celebrating our Veterans at Katherine Johnson!
DHS Counseling Team
Desoto High School Counselors are thrilled to be meeting with students and parents to discuss course planning and valuable SchooLinks Guidance lessons. These meetings are a crucial opportunity to help students explore their academic paths and align their courses with future goals. Counselors are emphasizing the importance of being college, career, and military ready, ensuring that every student has the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their futures. With personalized guidance, students will be empowered to reach their full potential and pursue their dreams.
Moreover, partnerships with organizations such as Education is Freedom, Gear Up, and Advise Texas significantly enhances the support system for Desoto students. Counselors are also collaborating with students, parents and other stakeholders as needed to ensure that no student is left behind. These partnerships and programs provide essential resources and mentorship, helping students navigate the often complex road to college. With workshops, one-on-one advising, and access to scholarships, these partners play a pivotal role in preparing students for post-secondary success. Together, the counselors and these organizations create a comprehensive network that not only boosts academic performance but also builds confidence while ensuring that every student is ready to embark on their next adventure after high school. Cheers to the DeHS Counselors and CCMR ready scholars!
