Dear Families,

I would love to invite you into our classroom to be a Mystery Reader. A Mystery Reader is someone special who would make a surprise visit and share a read aloud book with us. This can be a parent, grandparent, sibling, cousin, etc. As a reminder, please have a criminal background check form on file:

You are welcome to bring a family favorite book, or I am happy to provide a book from our classroom library. This fun event will occur weekly on Fridays, from 10:30-10:50 a.m., just prior to Friday Family Lunch (11:00-11:30 a.m.). If you have small children at home, they are welcome to come, too!

Students love to see their loved ones in the classroom! Please reach out if you have any questions. Don’t forget, it’s a secret!

*Phonics Workshop - I can read and write high frequency words. I can use strategies to blend and segment words.

*Readers Workshop - I can read words even if they do not follow a pattern.

*Writers Workshop - I can plan and draft a poem

*Handwriting - I can write lower case letters: h, b and f.

* I can skip count forward and backwards by 5's.

* I can recognize and name 2 dimensional shapes.

Reminders:

Wear tennis shoes to P.E. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library books are due on Tuesdays.

iPads need to be charged each day.

Please provide headphones for your learner.
