Principal's Note
February 17-21, 2025
Dear Students, Staff, and Families,
As we begin the week, please stay vigilant with the weather and freezing temps and plan accordingly for any potential changes or delays. All messages about school closure and late starts are communicated through our district's thrillshare app and are sent via email, phone call, and text. If you do not receive these, please call the office at 785-562-3641. Student safety is always our top priority!
A reminder that Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, February 19th, from 12:30-8:30 PM. Students will dismiss early at 11:50 AM that day, and no lunch will be served. Conferences are a valuable opportunity to discuss your child's progress, celebrate their achievements, and set goals for the remainder of the year. We strongly encourage all families to attend your scheduled time.
Additionally, there will be no school on Friday, February 21st.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at conferences!
Have a great week!

Fifth grader Stella Zutterman from Marysville Elementary spelled the championship word "astringent" correctly to win the Marshall County Spelling Bee held today at the Marysville Jr/Sr High School auditorium. She moves on to the 2025 Sunflower State Spelling Bee held Saturday, March 22 at Kansas Wesleyan University. A big thanks to the Marysville Advocate for sponsoring the Marshall County Spelling Bee and also to Mr. Brian Cook, MJSHS English teacher for being our pronouncer.
2025 KINDNESS WEEK ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐
Last week, students and staff at MES celebrated Kindness Week with lots of different activities! We had fun dress-up days, activities involving showing kindness, a coloring contest, and lots of kindness shared by all. We received a total of 1,340 (plus a couple of very heart-warming monetary donations) for the Happy Kits to send to Children's Mercy Hospital. WOW! Thank you all so much for your generosity for a great cause! I encourage you to keep being the "I" in KIND!

Parent HANDBOOK Policy
Marysville Elementary is committed to academic growth for all students. Assessments are a critical part of measuring student progress and guiding instruction.
Our school uses the CHAMPS Framework to promote a positive learning environment. Students demonstrating readiness, respectfulness, and responsibility may receive positive office referrals and recognition.
We have a matrix system that we use for minor, moderate, and major infractions. Minor infractions (disruptive behavior, non-compliance, etc.) are typically handled by the classroom teacher and may result in a think sheet, parent contact, or detention. Moderate infractions (chronic minor behaviors, threats, cheating, etc.) may result in those previously listed as well as an office referral or suspension. Major infractions (chronic behaviors, violence, etc.) are handled by administrators and you will be notified to discuss the consequences further. For more information see our Behavior System Handbook on the USD 364 website.
February 17-21~ Breakfast and Lunch Menus
Please note for lunch, there is only one option at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience and will notify families when this changes. Please keep in mind that the students are offered salad, veggies, and fruit from the salad bar daily.
