HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
CHEER
It was a busy week for EHTHS Cheerleading!
The EHTHS Varsity Cheerleaders were excited to welcome athletes from the Egg Harbor Township Youth Organization. Athletes from all levels joined the high school team to greet the football players on the field. The EHTYO Varsity Cheerleaders were invited to join the high school varsity cheerleaders on the sideline to cheer on the Eagles for the first quarter of the game. The silver and orange poms were shining brightly under the Friday night lights.
The cheerleaders were up early Saturday morning to prepare for the EHT Community Pride Festival. In the spirit of giving back to the community, the cheerleaders held a school supplies donation drive earlier this season. The donated supplies were made available for EHT students and educators. Everything from coloring essentials to notebooks and folders were available to outfit students and classrooms for a great start to the school year. Additionally, the cheerleaders partnered with the Community Partnership who funded hair feathers and supplies. The cheerleaders loved connecting with children in the community.
The varsity cheerleaders were invited to cheer on the Unified Soccer Team in this week's matchup against Mainland on the turf. Our hearts were full of love and pride as we cheered on the athletes. Some of them even joined us for a dance or two!

On Monday the Lady Eagles hosted arc-nemesis, Ocean City at Silver Eagle Stadium. The Eagles welcomed the Red Raiders to the nest and quickly spread their wings. In the 11th minute freshman rock-star, Jackie Brownlee, scored the first of her three goals on the day. Junior, Brielle VonColln, assisted on the first goal with a beautifully played ball from the wing. Shortly after, VonColln would strike again with a goal of her own, assisted by Abby Mathis. Jackie Brownlee was not done yet, in the 17th minute she fired a shot from 25 yards out that found the back of the net, assisted again by Abby Mathis. At halftime the Eagles led 3-1. Ocean City made things interesting in the 62nd minute with a goal, making the score 3-2. The Eagles were determined to keep the lead and with 2 minutes remaining, Jackie Brownlee would seal the deal with her third goal of the game, assisted by Brielle VonColln. The Lady Eagles played stellar defense throughout the match, the midfield controlled the pace and the strikers did what they do best, score goals! Senior Goalie, Abby Lyon, recorded her fifth win of the season with five saves on the day.
On Wednesday the Road Warriors traveled to Millville to face the Thunderbolts in a Group IV Divisional showdown. The Thunderbolts were up for the challenge and the Lady Eagles had to sink their talons into the pitch and claw their way to victory. The Eagles scored first with an early goal in the 8th minute from Senior Captain Aniyah Parker, assisted by Daniela Ramirez. Millville tied the game in the 25th minute of the first half. The Eagles dominated the entire second half, but could not find the back of the net. Overtime was needed and the Lady Eagles pounced on the opportunity. 34 seconds into the first overtime, Brielle VonColln got loose behind Millville’s defense and played a ball to Jackie Brownlee who did not hesitate to end the game.
