Accountability & School Improvement

A-F Accountability Reports
Accountability data tables and student listings are available in TEAL. Masked accountability reports are now published on TXschools.gov and on TEA's 2021 accountability page.
Accountability Summary - State Level Report
Lead4ward has created a state level accountability summary from 2018-2021 using raw component scores. This might be helpful as you look at your campus/district data reports that are now available in TEAL.
Interpreting 2021 Accountability Data Zoom
I have recorded a 20-30 minute zoom explaining how to interpret the data reports that have been released in TEAL. If you would like to access this recording, please register in Pitstop by Friday, September 17, and I will send out the video link.
2021 STAAR Data - TEA's STAAR Analytic Portal
Just a reminder TEA also has created a STAAR Analytic Portal to allow comparisons on specific grade level STAAR test results. You can compare your results to the state data or to another district.
Postings and Notice Requirements - 2021 Accountability Ratings
Lead4ward has created a 1 page quick look to help districts track the required postings and notices.
Economically Disadvantaged Rate - Domain 2B
The rate of students on a campus who are coded as Economically Disadvantaged plays a critical role in Domain 2B. Eco Dis PEIMS codes of 01, 02, and 99 are used for accountability. Districts are still required to collect household socioeconomic information and annually report in PEIMS the economically disadvantaged status for each child. This requirement is wholly independent of the U.S. Department of Agriculture requirements for providing meals.
Academic Accountability Ratings for 2022
As required by Senate Bill 1365 (87th Texas Legislature), academic accountability ratings for 2022 will be limited to A, B, C, and Not Rated. In 2022, districts and campuses will not receive D or F ratings. Additionally, this bill requires that beginning with 2022, campuses that earn an overall Unacceptable rating be identified on the 2023–24 Public Education Grant (PEG) List. As F ratings will not be assigned in 2022, any campus that earns an overall scaled score less than 60 will be identified for the 2023–24 PEG List.
2021 Alternative Evaluation Option - NOW IN TEAL
Senate Bill 1365 established a 2021 alternative evaluation option for campuses that meet participation requirements and earned an unacceptable rating for the most recent year they were rated. This alternative evaluation serves as a method for campuses to break the chain of consecutive years of unacceptable performance. This process allows campuses to demonstrate they have made sufficient improvement using available data from the 2020–21 school year. If a campus meets these eligibility requirements and receives an overall A, B, or C rating when averaging the 2021 Student Achievement and School Progress, Part B: Relative Performance domain scaled scores, the campus will have the option to apply for an Acceptable rating label rather than Not Rated for 2021. Scaled scores will only be calculated for eligible campuses and only in these two domains. These outcomes are now shared with relevant districts in TEAL Accountability.
TEA has created an FAQ to address questions.
If a district wants to appeal the consecutive school years of unacceptable performance rating, TEA has created an appeals process available from September 15 until Friday, October 15.
Final 2019 CCMR Outcomes Bonus Student Listings
TEA has now posted the Final 2019 CCMR Outcomes Bonus (CCMR OB) reports in TEAL Accountability. This listing is considered final and will be used by the State Funding Division to settle up fiscal year 2020–2021 CCMR OB funding.
