Winter Break: Friday, December 20th-Friday January, 6th
A Message from Mrs. Haley
Dear Families,
At Longmont Estates, we know the crucial role that literacy skills play in students' overall success. Therefore, we will be participating in the MyOn Challenge over break, so please encourage your kids to log on!
During this winter season, I would like to celebrate the success of the first half of the school year. I am proud of the progress our students are making. Thank you for supporting your child at home and partnering with our staff. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe winter break.
Sincerely,
Traci Haley,
Principal
From the Health Office
Our health office is in need of elastic waist pants for both girls and boys, as well as new, sealed packages of underwear. These items help us care for students who may need a change of clothing during the school day.
We also kindly remind parents: if there’s a chance your student might have a bathroom accident at school, please pack a spare set of clothes in their backpack. This ensures we can handle such situations quickly and comfortably for your child.
Thank you for supporting our students!
Author Visit from Dr. Bennett
On Tuesday, your child attended an assembly with author Dr. Bennett, who presented his Max the Dog books!
- K–2nd Grade learned about the moon and its phases through Max on the Moon.
- 3rd–5th Grade explored Max on Mars and the differences in planetary atmospheres.
Autographed books ordered earlier have been delivered. Missed out? There's one more chance to order! Forms are coming home today and are due back by December 13, 2024.
Check out Dr. Bennett’s books being read from the International Space Station by clicking here and visit the Max the Dog show at Fiske Planetarium in Boulder for more fun!
Canned Food Drive
We are very excited to announce that Longmont Estates Elementary will once again participate, with other schools in the district, in our Annual Food Drive. In the past we have collected close to 40,000 pounds of food district wide and we hope to exceed that number this year. LEE's annual food drive is December 2nd-December 17th. All the food collected will benefit the Longmont OUR Center. There are many families in need in our area, and this food will benefit them. Please help out, if you can!!
The Giving Tree
Longmont Estates will be organizing its annual Giving Tree, a tradition that brings our community together. Throughout the month of December, we will have a tree in the entryway, decorated with anonymous ornaments. These ornaments represent the wishes of families within the LEE community.
If you are in need of assistance to provide gifts for children this holiday season, we invite you to visit our office and pick up a gift request form. Please rest assured that all information provided will be kept confidential. If you have children outside of the LEE community, whether older or younger, we welcome your requests for additional gift forms. Please return the completed forms to the front office by Friday, December 6th.
For those who would like to contribute to this heartwarming tradition, you (or your child with your permission) can select an ornament from the tree and purchase the items listed on it. We kindly request that all gifts be returned to our front office no later than NOON on Tuesday, December 17th. To make the process easier, we kindly ask that the gifts are wrapped and the ornament tag is securely taped to the outside of the package. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and we thank you for being a part of our Giving Tree tradition!
