St. Anthony of Padua featured in this month's issue of
NCEA's "Bright Lights of Catholic Education"
From the National Catholic Education Association:
Last November, the President of NCEA, Dr. Stephen Chessman, visited our campus. This month our school is featured in NCEA's "Bright Lights of Catholic Education." We hope you enjoy the following article:
Catholic schools across the country illuminate young minds and hearts, forming students who excel academically while growing in faith. Among them, St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic School in Las Vegas stands out as a true beacon of excellence in Catholic education.
What sets St. Anthony apart is its unwavering commitment to providing students with cutting-edge learning opportunities while fostering a deep-rooted Catholic identity. Its STREAM program (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math) is second to none, featuring dedicated labs, a makerspace, a sound recording booth and even a green screen video production studio—innovative resources that empower students to be creators and problem-solvers.
Beyond technology, St. Anthony boasts the most impressive woodshop program I’ve ever seen in an elementary school. It’s rare to find a space where young students can develop hands-on craftsmanship skills in such a meaningful way, and this program ensures they gain practical experience alongside their academic studies.
However, what truly makes this school shine is the strength of its Catholic identity and community. The principal, teachers and staff work in seamless partnership with the parish priests, ensuring that faith is woven into every aspect of daily life. Rarely do you see a pastor who knows students by name and is so deeply devoted to Catholic education. His presence is a constant reminder that this is more than just a school—it is a faith-filled family.
Whether in academics, arts or athletics, students at St. Anthony receive a well-rounded education that challenges them to grow intellectually, creatively and spiritually. From rigorous coursework to a dynamic fine arts program, the school ensures that every child is nurtured and prepared for success.
St. Anthony of Padua is more than just a school—it is a shining example of what Catholic education should be: innovative, faith-filled and dedicated to forming the leaders of tomorrow. For more on this story click here.
