PRAYER FOR THE WILDFIRES
Heavenly Father,
We turn to You in this time of great trial, as the wildfires rage across Los Angeles. Protect those in danger, comfort those who have lost their homes, and welcome into Your eternal embrace the souls of those who have perished.
Lord, we pray for the firefighters and first responders. Grant them strength, courage, and safety as they battle the flames. May Your guiding hand lead them to protect lives and property.
Holy Spirit, inspire us to be instruments of Your peace and love, supporting our brothers and sisters in need with our prayers, resources, and compassion.
Mother Mary, Queen of Angels, intercede for us in this hour of need. Bring hope to the hopeless and healing to the afflicted.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
AMEN.
CELEBRATING OUR SCHOOL
Dear Bruin Families,
It's Open House weekend! As the principal of St. Dorothy and the product of Catholic Schools myself, I am immensely proud to belong to a Catholic School such as ours and to work in Catholic education. As I told my staff this morning, we have work to do and buildings to repair, but there is no doubt in my mind that our community is strong and that we have teachers and parents who are invested in Catholic education and consistently working to improve while providing genuine care for our students. If you know of anyone considering a school for their young one, please encourage them to visit us on Sunday and talk with myself and our staff.
We will continue celebrating Catholic education throughout the week during Catholic Schools Week. It is a week filled with dress up days, fun activities, and gratitude for a Catholic education. We hope you can join us some time during the week to see all the fun!
I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday! Have a blessed weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Ryan Nearhoff

Mission Statement
To educate TK-Eighth grade students in a Catholic environment in which the curriculum emphasizes spiritual, ethical, and social values of the Catholic faith to become responsible and moral citizens within the global community.
Philosophy
Supporting the belief that parents are the primary educators of their children, we as educators at St. Dorothy Catholic School, dedicate ourselves to partner with the parents in preparing children to become contributing members of the community. To achieve this, we provide holistic development in psychological, emotional, social and physical health, with an emphasis on academics, faith, and Christian service.
In collaboration with parents, we champion student achievement through the presentation, practice, and study of Catholic doctrine, a strong academic curriculum, multimedia and multi-cultural experiences, physical education, extracurricular programs, and the dedicated commitment of the teachers and staff.
