Kia ora koutou

With the Year 5 performance now complete and the final Year 6 show later today, I'd like to congratulate all of our budding stars, with thanks to the dedicated teaching teams who have worked so hard to make this such a fun, memorable event.

It's great to see so many parents in attendance for events such as these, and how much it means to the children. Our performers have certainly had a fantastic time, producing some very memorable moments on stage, which all comes down to a true group effort, and one they can be very proud of.

We look forward to seeing more parents for this evening's show, and stay tuned for next term, when we shine the spotlight on our Junior Showcases!

While this week is the 'official' week nationwide, due to production, our own celebrations of Te Reo Māori will take place in the last week of term, with the children polishing their vocabulary, phrases and pronunciation through a variety of fun activities across the school.

The theme for Te Wiki 2024 is ‘Ake ake ake – A Forever Language’, representing the strength, resilience and endurance of this unique official language.

Today marks the day that New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world to extend voting rights to all women. One hundred and thirty-one years on, we're continuing to make progress, but there's still more work to do, so this day is an opportunity to acknowledge the trailblazing suffragists, reflect on the progress made towards equity and equality, and be reminded of the opportunities and choices we want for all our girls to have in their lives.

The final day to hand in your Yummy Apple Sticker Collection Sheet is on Friday, 20th September. Sticker collection sheets can be either handed in to your child's teacher or to the office. Your collection sheet doesn’t need to be full so please start bringing them into the school so they can be counted. Every sticker counts! Thank you for your support.
