Principal's Corner
Welcome to Fall everyone. Remember that tomorrow is a planned teacher in-service day and there is NO SCHOOL for students! We will be getting ready for parent teacher conferences and doing some staff professional development. Enjoy your three day weekend.
A BIG, BIG THANK YOU!!! Our community is amazing and our student leadership council raised $770 with their “pay up to dress down” fundraiser last Friday. They will use this money for future student events. One of our biggest student events that they organize is the all-school Spirit Week, October 7-11. Our student leaders will be outside during carpool next week encouraging families to donate to our Gator Nation “How Fun is your Run?” fundraising initiative. Give them a “honk” and a “wave”!
Speaking of the Fun Run, we now have a link for corporate sponsors. See the flyer below for more details if you or your business is interested in corporate sponsorship.
We are looking forward to seeing our parents at Parent Teacher Conferences next week. If our parking lot is full, you can park at Extra Space to the South but please don’t park in their posted “customer parking” located in front of their building.
Mrs. Deady did some professional development about writing and is engaging her students in “Nature Journals.” The second grade has enjoyed some fun writing and practiced their observation and inference skills. I enjoyed writing about a hissing cockroach but Mrs. Nelson struggled with her entry about the tarantula. Nature is a great way to find written expression. Try a nature journal in your own family!
