In this month's newsletter, you will find important information as we round out the first semester of our 21-22 school year. Concord West Side extends our deepest gratitude and warmest wishes to you and your family during this holiday season.

Beginning today, Dec. 1st, CCS's Safe Learning Plan (below) has been amended to include a mask-optional policy. Please let us know if you have any questions.

According to Mindset Health research, "Students with a growth mindset understand they can get smarter through hard work, the use of effective strategies, and help from others when needed. It is contrasted with a fixed mindset: the belief that intelligence is a fixed trait that is set in stone at birth."

• Requests for an early student pickup must be called into the office by 1:00PM
• Library books should be returned to or kept at school each day. Lost or damaged books must be paid for before full library privileges resume.
• Spirit Wear is scheduled to be sent home on 12/16 and 12/17. Thank you for your order!

Chromebooks should be returned to school each day and should be fully charged. Students use their Chromebooks periodically every day in school.

2nd and 4th grade students have been practicing for our annual holiday program, held at CHS's Beickman PAC on Wednesday, Dec. 15th at 6:30PM. Students in 2nd and 4th grade should arrive at CHS at 6:00PM.

Reminder: masks are optional at after-school events.

We would like to thank Mrs. Hovan for her time and hard work getting our students ready for our 21-22 Holiday Program.

1. If your child or someone whom they live with is Covid-19 tested, before they return to school, you will need to speak to Nurse Kelsey.
2. Vision screening for 1st and 3rd grade students will take place in January at West Side. Contact Nurse Kelsey to opt out.

You are WELCOME at West Side! When visiting, dropping off or picking up, please follow the traffic signs and our procedures for everyone's safety. The focus this month is on the East drive where we need to turn RIGHT onto Mishawaka Rd during arrival and dismissal times. When cars turn left, it is a safety hazard and it slows down our process.

Dec. 9: Fancy Day! Students and staff dress up in their best and enjoy a "fancy" lunch in our cafe.

Dec. 17: End of 2nd grading period. Report cards sent home 1/10/22

Dec. 15: 2nd and 4th grade Christmas Program 6:30-7:30PM at CHS Beickman auditorium, students arrive at 6:00PM

Dec. 20 - Dec. 31: Winter Break
