Dual Credit Kinesiology/ Fitness and Conditioning 11 &12
In this Dual Credit course, in partnership with Camosun College, students will study basic fitness principles to explore the ways in which fitness training and lifestyle behaviours impact health and wellness in a range of populations and various cultures within Canada including Indigenous Peoples. Behaviour change and goal setting will also be explored as the students study a series of fitness and wellness components. Students will also learn and practice a range of practical basic physical fitness and exercise training methods and techniques. Students will work through the curricular competencies of Fitness and Conditioning 11/12 while coinciding with Kinesiology 120 assignments, projects, tests and lab work. Travel to Camosun Interurban campus once a week is required for this program. Punctuality, attendance, and participation is mandatory. This course is available upon acceptance for students going into grade 11 and 12 and are interested in pursuing a Kinesiology diploma, certificate, or degree. UBC Women in Engineering
UBC Women in Engineering (WiE) is holding an online workshop series for high school girls* in grades 10-12 with an interest in engineering! This series consists of workshops in January, February, and March covering introductions to coding, computer aided design (CAD), and a guide to first year engineering at the UBC Vancouver campus.
Students interested in any or all of these workshops must fill out the WiE Online Workshop Series Sign-up Form by Friday, January 24th, 2025 to receive the meeting links and recordings for each workshop.
