Due to a technical issue in Skyward, the high school deadline to opt out of comprehensive sexual health education has been extended to Tuesday, November 19th. View the lesson plans and grades 9-12 curriculum.

• If your child will participate in all of the comprehensive sexual health lessons, you do not need to take any action.

• If you would like to opt out of some or all of the instruction, please make your selection by the end of day on Tuesday, Nov. 19. After this date, we may not be able to accommodate opt-out requests.

Please join us for the parent presentation Tuesday, November 19th, from 6-630pm in the LAIR (cafeteria). Ms. Ichimura and the admin team will be sharing information about our School Improvement Plan, our goals for BGHS, and sharing updates on our fall focus areas (Tiger Time, Single Period Absences, Cell Phones, etc).

At 6:30, we will move directly into a senior parent session where our counselors will share key senior year dates and graduation information. Our grad night committee will also present, wrapping us up at at 7pm that evening.

Seniors, Parents, and Guardians~ It’s time to get started on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) processes. One of the first steps is creating an FSA ID, which is necessary for signing and submitting the FAFSA online. Both students and one parent or guardian will need to create their own FSA IDs. This ID is crucial as it serves as your legal signature and provides access to your federal student aid information.

Join us on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 3 pm to 6 pm at Battle Ground High School College and Career Center for the FSA ID Workshop. To complete the FSA ID, you will need your social security number and personal email. The sooner you complete this step, the sooner you can complete your FAFSA or WASFA in December. We're here to assist you with any questions about scholarships and college applications.

The Band Boosters are once again hosting a Christmas Tree sale in the Albertsons parking lot located at 2108 W Main in Battle Ground beginning Friday November 29. Sale hours are 3PM to 7PM Wednesdays through Fridays and 10AM to 7PM Saturdays and Sundays. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Rumor has it Santa will be visiting on Saturday November 30. Stop by and give him your list!

The Boosters would love some volunteer help at the lot this year. This is a super fun way to connect with our community and spread some cheer while supporting the music programs at BGHS. Those interested can sign up for a shift at Christmas tree fundraiser. Also, don’t be surprised if Curley the camel makes a special appearance. Curley is looking forward to seeing you.

Calling all Tigers... Do you love the outdoors? Do you exhibit Unity Toughness and Class? Would you like the opportunity to grow as a leader and mentor? Are you ready to lead 6th-grade students at a week-long Outdoor School?

We are looking for 20 outstanding High School students to serve as Outdoor School Counselors at Chief Umtuch’s 4-day 3-night Outdoor School field trip to Cispus Learning Center on March 25th-28th, 2025. This is the week before Spring Break.

The 2025 General George C. Marshall Leadership Awards nominations are open until December 2!

We are pleased to continue this 36-year tradition of recognizing and celebrating Clark County’s young people who are actively creating community impact through strength of character and commitment to public service.

We’re looking for high school seniors and young adults (under age 35) who embody General Marshall's values of integrity, candor, courage, and preparedness in their commitment to serving the greater good. They’re showing up to lead and are actively serving the community – they may be doing it quietly or boldly, but in either case, we want to hear their stories. This is where you come in.

Please submit a nomination HERE for a young person who has impressed you with their leadership. Consider the positive impact a nomination will have – it lets them know that you see them, and is a powerful acknowledgement of their efforts. Candidates must be nominated by December 2, 2024 to be considered. After nominations close, all nominees will be invited to submit an application, and will also be invited to attend a free Marshall Leadership Workshop in January.

Public (adult) Award Nomination Qualifications:

-35 years of age or younger

-Clark County resident

-Demonstrates leadership ability and a commitment to serving a greater good

-Public visibility for the award recipient’s employer or nominating organization

Youth Award Nomination Qualifications:

-High school senior

-Clark County resident

-Demonstrates leadership ability and a commitment to serving a greater good

-Serves as a role model, motivating others to become involved

Please note, there is no minimum GPA requirement as it is not a factor in the evaluation process.

Youth Award recipient will receive:

-$4,000 Aléna K. Jarvis Memorial Scholarship

-Opportunities to develop professional relationships with community leaders

-Public visibility for the award recipient and their nominating school or organization

Five youth finalists will each receive a $1,000 scholarship provided by the Klinge/Meyer Family Fund of the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington.

Hello Partners,

The WYCA continues to seek out youth who are interested in applying for the January 13th class. We still have lots of space for both males and females. 165 youth are accepted each class cycle, 110 males and 55 females. Admission to the program starts with completing an application.

Admission Process: Apply and finish the application. Applications must be completed to move to the next step. Attend Interview Day . Youth must be interviewed to be selected for the class. These interviews are by invitation only. Bremerton Interview Days are November 19th, January 6-7 and interviews for Eastern WA youth will be held in Ephrata on 12/19-20

Cascadia Tech Academy Website

CTA Tour

Battle Ground High School students will tour Cascadia Tech Academy on January 14, 2025, from 8:00 am - 10:30 am. To attend the tour students must sign up in the College and Career Center by December 20, 2024, and complete the field trip permission documentation.

Application Process

The Cascadia Tech Applications (paper form) will be available in the College and Career Center on January 15, 2025. Completed applications must be received by January 31, 2025. This is a quick turnaround time. Don’t procrastinate. The application process does not guarantee placement into Cascadia Tech Academy.
