BCE Bear Mail
Friday March 8th.
Message from the office.
Hello BCE Community and Families,
It was so great to see so many of our BEARS as twins, triplets and more. They were all so cute and a great way to show our spirit.
A reminder that we don't have school next Friday 3/15. It is a teacher professional development day. Enjoy the long weekend :)
5th grade families we wanted to let you know that you do not need to register for SLVMS next year. Since we are all SLVUSD all the documents will just transfer. Just wanted to make sure everyone knows as we have been getting a few calls.
Next Monday we will launch the district parent survey. Please be on the look out for an email from me. We so value the parent input in our district. It is also a big competition across the schools :)
We have our next BEAR PAW Store on 4/12. We would some more donations. We have the amazon wishlist updated based on student input. Thanks for your help in advance.
For summer of 2024, SLV will be running its Extended Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) in June and July for qualifying families. Families who qualify for Summer ELOP should have received an email on February 28th. This is the only summer offering for SLVUSD students other than high school credit recovery.
Have a wonderful weekend.

BCE Talent Show- Sign up now
BCE’s annual Talent Show is coming up! We invite students in K-5 to audition to be in the show. Please sign up your student to audition using this link. You can contact Mr. Keasey (akeasy@slvusd.org) or Mrs. Jaime (kjaime@slvusd.org) if you have any questions.
Attendance
As you know, attendance is extremely important. That said, we understand children get sick and may miss some school. We notice some students are missing an excessive amount of school due to illness.
If your student is out for more than three days we do require a doctor's note. You can scan & send the document to our health aide, Kat, at kgafford@slvusd.org. You can send a screenshot to (831) 252-1491 or you can bring the document to us in person.
This is extremely important so please save the paperwork from any of your appointments and submit that documentation in a timely fashion. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Should you have any questions please contact Kat at 338-6413 extension 149."

Volunteers
We are excited to have volunteers back on campus. All volunteers need to be cleared with the appropriate paperwork from the office. The office is happy to help if you have questions about your volunteer status.
If you can volunteer this year, we would love to have you. Please speak with your teacher and office staff. All volunteer schedules need to be approved by classroom teachers before volunteers begin in classrooms.
