Just wow! Our students(and parents and guardians) have done such an amazing job during our Read-a-thon. They have eclipsed both goals of 40,000 & 65,000 minutes. Currently, our amazing students have logged 75,000 minutes of reading heading into the last weekend. Our Read-a-thon officially ends on Monday, March 24th.

Wattles Park Elementary extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to our school community! We're incredibly proud of our readers and grateful for your support, which made our fundraiser a success. Our students had a wonderful time reading. We can't wait to host another Read-A-Thon next year!

We will be welcoming next year's Kindergarten families on March 20th and April 15th to our Countdown to Kindergarten events. Please share this information with family, friends and co-workers that have children turning 5 years old by September 1st. We will begin both nights at 6:00pm in the cafeteria. Marlis grew up in the shadows of the campus of Michigan State University. Growing up in a college town is one of the many things she appreciates about her childhood. She developed a love for learning and reading early on and has sustained this through adulthood. Although teaching is a second career for her, this love has shaped how she goes about her job as a teacher for Harper Creek.

We are planning a career day on Friday, May 23th from 12:00-3:00 p.m. We are looking for presenters to come to Wattles Park Elementary and teach or demonstrate for our students. Our Friday popcorn team needs more help. Popping starts at 7:30 am on Friday mornings and usually wraps up by mid-morning. If you are available for any length of time on Friday mornings, please call Corenna in the office and she will connect you with the popcorn team. 269-441-5850
