Message from the East Hill Principal
Hello East Hill Families!
We've had a fantastic October here at East Hill Elementary! This week was extra special as we celebrated First Responder's Day. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Camillus Police Department, WAVES Ambulance, Onondaga County Sheriff's Office SWAT and Bomb Squad, and the Syracuse Police Department SWAT teams, for spending the morning with us. Our students had a memorable experience learning about the essential roles these officers play in our community. They explored the equipment, climbed into the vehicles, and gained valuable insights into the work of our community helpers. Thank you to our Officer Clarke for this special event at EH!
Please see the details below for our upcoming Fall/Halloween Festivities scheduled for Thursday, October 31. We look forward to celebrating with you and our students next week!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Susan

🎃 Halloween Festivities 🎃
Halloween is almost here and with that, we would like to share the planning and schedule for Thursday, October 31st. It is our hope (weather permitting) you will be able to join us by lining the bus loop parade route in front of the school. If the weather does not cooperate, a decision will be made that morning to have an indoor parade in which spectators would not be permitted. The parade will begin promptly at 1:40pm with classroom parties to follow.
A few reminders and guidelines will ensure the safety and well-being of all, and make this enjoyable for everyone who participates.
Please send your child’s costume to school in a labeled bag. We ask that students do not come to school in costume or wear any makeup of any kind. Please do not send make up, aerosol sprays, or complicated accessories to school as time is limited.
All scary, bloody masks, weapons, spears or other dangerous accessories must remain at home. Please respect that our youngest students can be frightened easily and we want all participants to have an enjoyable experience.
We ask that all those who are attending the parade and would like to participate by dressing up to avoid wearing masks of any kind.
Volunteers that have pre-registered to help with the parties are asked to sign in at the main office upon arrival.
There will be no parking available on campus. Please remember to park on the even side of the street only as emergency vehicles must be able to get through. Please be respectful of our EH neighbors and do not block driveways or mailboxes and walk only on roads and sidewalks. Dogs are not permitted on campus during school hours.
Pre-registered volunteers that are signing out their students early must do so by 2:45pm. Please send a note to school if you plan to sign out your student. Minimizing additional signouts and limiting the amount of traffic during dismissal is imperative for the safety of students, staff and families.
Alternate Halloween Plans
If you do not want your child to participate in the Halloween parade and would like he/she to participate in the alternative Halloween plans, please notify their teacher no later than TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2024.
