Principal's Message
Hello CRS School Community!
Amazingly, more than two months of the school year are already in our rearview! Our staff and students have been hard at work on learning outcomes and it has been exciting to see the quality learning experiences that have been going on in the classrooms. The Fall Break is upon us and, when we return, we will only be about five weeks from the Christmas Holiday... let that sink in for a moment! This period between these breaks is always at an important segment in the elementary school year in terms of student learning and output.
We are also at a time in the school year when we know more about our classroom configurations and situations and, when possible, we can start making decisions to improve learning outcomes for students. If you have been following my Principal's Blog, you will already know that we are making some changes to address the large learning groups in Gr. 3. Currently, we have 58 Gr. 3 students in two classes but, after the break, our Gr. 3 students will be working on Language Arts and Mathematics outcomes in groups of 16, 20 and 22. Additionally, Battle River School Division was able to provide some extra Educational Assistant hours which will provide additional support for several classes. We are excited about the potential for these developments to improve learning outcomes for students throughout the school!
There is just one more reminder that I like to make around this time of year... Mid to late fall tends to also be a time when the weather shifts significantly and we can expect dropping temperatures and snow. Please ensure that students are coming to school prepared for outside recess breaks with weather-appropriate clothing. Inevitably, some students will have identical items and things do get dropped or forgotten in boot rooms and on the playground so it is also very helpful when items are labelled. This may or may not be possible for every item but the more we can keep out of our lost and found bin, the better!
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out when you have questions or if there is something that you would like to discuss!
Yours in Education,
Reid Lansing

EASY Way of accessing your child’s images online:
Lifetouch Photography is excited to announce the launch of a new way to access photos online.
After much safety and security testing, Lifetouch developed a way for families to access their child’s photo using their student ID number.
Go to our website at www.mylifetouch.ca, click on Student ID and follow the detailed instructions to view and order photos.
If you have any questions on this ordering process, please call the Lifetouch Customer Care Line at 1.866.457.8212 or access the live chat on our website, www.mylifetouch.ca
Parents can still access their photos online by using their child’s portrait ID and access code. By enabling the option of using your child’s student ID number, gives people another way to access photos if they lose their proof sheet.

A huge thank you to all the parents and families that purchased chocolate almonds for our fundraiser! We set a record this year selling 3420 boxes. All proceeds from these sales will go towards helping fund student activities and field trips.
Thank you to our school council that generously donated 13 gifts to the top sellers. What a great surprise for our students!
Parent Council Meeting
The next meeting for School Council is November 28h at 9 am in the office. We invite all families to join us.
We have a new email address! Please contact us if you have any questions at :
Classroom Treats
We love that you want to celebrate with your child on special occasions and are appreciative of your generosity, but we ask that no class treats be brought to school. Due to food allergies that may be present in your child's classroom we are unable to hand these treats out. If you would like to pack something special for your child on special occasions, we encourage you to add it to their lunch boxes.
Mabel's Label
How many items did your child lose this year? With this win-win solution, you can create custom labels for your child's items (boots, jackets, lunch kits, etc.) while supporting Chester Ronning's fundraising efforts that go toward supporting our students!
