As we head into the winter season with a record 675+ students registered for our 11 winter sports, we want to a take a minute to celebrate our successful Fall season and thank our Class of 2025 senior student-athletes for their hard work this season and across their time at BHS.
Post Season Highlights
Boys Cross Country
Boys Cross Country won their third consecutive Division 1 State Championship! Having finished 2nd to BC High the week before, the Warriors ran a determined race, with lots of team support. Altamo Aschkenasy led the Warriors with a 3rd place finish, followed by Lysander Duffield (8th), Liam Hartman (16th), Theo Butty (27th), and Sam Haber (31st) as the scoring five runners. The Warriors finished first with a score of 62, nine points ahead of BC High with a score of 71. This was one of the closest and lowest scored team races in recent years. Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team on their State Championship title!
Girls Swim & Dive
The Girls Swim & Dive team finished in 2nd place at the Division 1 State Meet! This was the second time in school history the team has earned the Runner-Up spot. The first time was in 2020 when the current senior group were freshman. After finished in a close 3rd by 1 point at Sectionals, the Warriors were determined to place higher. This was in part to many great individual and relay results including: 2nd place: 200 medley relay (Mirta Ceraj, Daisy Huang, Clau Rothman, Jing Shi), Daisy Huang in 100 breaststroke, Mirta Ceraj in 100 backstroke. 5th place: Clau Rothman in 200 IM and 100 fly. 6th place: Hanna Shimbori in 200 IM and 100 fly, 200 free relay (Mirta Ceraj, Maya Rubenstein, Mimi Aspi, Hanna Shimbori). 7th place: Sarah Manor in 100 breaststroke. 8th place: 400 free relay (Mimi Aspi, Hanna Shimbori, Olivia Silva, Daisy Huang), Olivia Silva in 100 breaststroke, Mirta Ceraj in 100 free. Congratulations to the Warriors Girls Swim & Dive team!
Girls Volleyball
Girls Volleyball brought their season to an end in the State Championship Game, making them state finalists! The team has not advanced to the championship game since 1978. The program success has improved each year, having made it to the Round of 16 last season. While Newton North defeated Brookline 3-0 (29-27, 25-22, 25-14) in the Championship Game, the Warriors held their heads high, proud of all they accomplished this season. Congratulations Brookline Girls Volleyball!
Girls Soccer
Girls Soccer advanced to the State Semifinals this season! The Warriors lost in overtime to Wellesley after tying the game up at 1-1 with a header by Sydney Freese with 2 seconds left in regulation time. This was the second straight year the Warriors team advanced to the State Semifinals, with the two years prior to that making it to the round of 8. Congratulations to the Warriors Girls Soccer Team!

Spotlight on Excellence!
Sports teams raise cancer awareness through competition
"At the high school, various sports teams participate in cancer awareness games, some through initiatives such as “Kicks for Cancer” or “Stick it to Cancer,” whereas others are led by Kyle Williams and the other athletic directors. Regardless of the method, these games serve to raise awareness throughout the community and strengthen team bonds."
Altamo Aschkenasy sets pace in Brookline’s three-peat Division 1 state championship
"Behind Aschkenasy’s third-place finish in 15 minutes, 38.93 seconds, a ninth-place finish from fellow star senior Lysander Duffield (15:59.77), and their next three finishers each placing in the race’s top 31, Brookline (62 points) topped runner-up BC High (71) to claim the Division 1 state title Saturday at Willard Park in Devens."
Boys varsity football triumphs over the Dover-Sherborn Raiders 33-8 on senior night
"The boys varsity football team defeated the Dover-Sherborn Raiders 33-8 at Parsons Field on Friday, Nov. 15, sending the seniors off in style for their senior night, and last home game of the season."
Brookline girls’ volleyball prevails in five-set thriller over Acton-Boxborough to reach Division 1 final
"The No. 2 Warriors had a rollercoaster of a match, but eventually triumphed in a five-set thriller, 25-23, 25-19, 9-25, 20-25, 15-13, over No. 6 Acton-Boxborough Tuesday night at Newton South High."
Unified Basketball brings the court together
"Unified Basketball is an organization that focuses on bringing together people with different abilities and the same interests.They work in collaboration with the Special Olympics; a global movement to end discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities in sports. Regardless of background, ability or experience, Unified Basketball provides students with the opportunity to engage in a culture of personal growth and support."

Boys Golf Season in Review
The Boys Varsity Golf Team delivered another stellar performance this fall, finishing the regular season with a strong 14-4 record and earning their fifth consecutive berth in the MIAA State Tournament. Led by Co-Captain Ty Ford, a Division 1 Fairfield University commit, and Co-Captain Leo Weil, the Warriors dominated the Bay State Conference with a 13-3 record. Despite their success, they fell just one match short of capturing the Bay State League title, finishing as runners-up to Wellesley.
