Weekly Message
Greetings THS students, families, and community members,
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great, restful weekend and you were able to enjoy the beautiful (but hot!) weather. Boys soccer, girls golf, cross country, and football were all in action on Friday and Saturday. If you haven't made it out to watch our teams, you should! Football had a great win over Western in the home opener Friday night, Girls Golf Finished 4th at conference, Cross Country competed well at the Maconoquah Invitational, and boys soccer defeated Twin Lakes 3-1.
This week is loaded with events as well! Get out and support our student athletes. For schedules and updates, get signed up for Eventlink or subscribe to the Blue Devils Athletics pages. (All handles are listed below.) And don't forget, homecoming is next week.
On the academic side of things, we successfully completed our first professional development day of the school year. THS staff worked in the morning with Artificial Intelligence, and started the conversation about how we prepare our current students to use it appropriately. The afternoon was spent as a staff in departments, working to improve reading comprehension and disciplinary literacy of Tipton High School students. Thank you for your flexibility on our PD days!
October 10th is the end of Quarter 1, so be on top of student grades. Powerschool is the one-stop shop to check attendance, check grades, email teachers, load lunch money, etc. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns!
As always, thank you for being a part of the Blue Devils community!
-Mr. Leach

Homecoming ; September 23-27
Cora Rodibaugh and the student council have been working hard to plan a dynamite homecoming for the Fall sports season. Check out the dress up days, and be on the look out for a list of fun activities.
We still have a few weeks before it gets here, but you should probably start planning your dress-up days now!
We will end the week with a pep session! Encourage your student to get involved and participate!

Afterschool Homework Tables
Every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school year, THS offers time from 3:10-4:15 to get additional help from our outstanding teaching staff.
There is no need to register, students can simply show up in the high school library after school and get to work! There are always two teachers supervising this time, and they can help with homework, organization, and many other struggles a high school student experiences.
This is a great, quiet time for students to stay on top of their academics.
Vote for Jie!
Jie Phifer is up for the first ever Fortitude Scholarship through the Tipton Magazine. Please follow the link and read her amazing story, and then vote!

If you know Jie, you know there is no one more deserving of this wonderful honor!
SAT - October 5th
Tipton High School will host the SAT testing on October 5th.
Students who need take the SAT should register by Sept. 20th through their College Board account at collegeboard.org.
If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Capshaw in the THS guidance department.
Alumni Spolight
One way we would like to do that is by recognizing the amazing Alumni that have graduated from THS. Below is a Google Form that any one can fill out to nominate a THS graduate for recognition. The information from the form will be used to create an alumni post on our social media accounts.
If you know a Blue Devil Alum that has gone on to do amazing things in their lives after graduation, please complete the form. Be sure to upload a high quality image for the slide.
