Message from the Principal
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are thrilled for the First day of School! It's going to be an incredible year! We are excited to get back into another school year, as we have missed all of our students and can't wait for them to be back in our school to fill it with energy and enthusiasm for learning. Thank you to our dedicated teachers and staff for spending the summer engaged in trainings and professional development, all to continue to be the best educators they can be for our Rangers.
We hope you will stop by and join us at the Boo-Hoo/Yahoo Breakfast, hosted by our PTA, on the first day from 7:30 to 8:00 am. It will be in our cafeteria on the stage. Stop by and meet other parents and grab a quick bite to eat! Don't forget to RSVP on the Google form below to walk your child to their classroom on the first day!
I'm so excited to continue serving as your Principal at Wetmore, where we are committed to excellence. Thank you for choosing Wetmore as your school community. We can't wait to embark on another great year together! Thank you for your support!
In Service,
Mrs. Nunez, Principal
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL- MONDAY, AUGUST 12TH AT 7:30 AM
Two parent/guardians will be able to walk their Ranger to their classroom on the first day of school. Please arrive at 7:00 AM, so that you have time to get checked in. Everyone will be required to present an ID and receive a visitor’s badge. If you RSVP'd then you will enter the school through the side exterior Library Door (to the left of the front doors). You will show your ID and we will give you your pre-printed visitor’s badge. This will help get you into the building more quickly, so that you will only have to present your ID to check in and get your badge, rather than waiting for it to print. If you did NOT RSVP then you will go to the front office and wait to be scanned in.
Just please make sure to limit conversations with teachers/adults, so that they are able to adequately supervise the other students in the classroom. After the first day of school, all students will walk to their class on their own. If they need assistance, then school staff will be happy to walk them to their class.
All students who arrive between 7:00-7:20 will report to the Gym to wait for their teacher. Teachers will pick up their students at 7:20 and walk them to the classroom. If they are going to eat breakfast, then they will report to the Cafeteria and will have until 7:30 am to finish eating their breakfast. The tardy bell rings at 7:30, so please allow plenty of time to get to class.
We will also hold a Boo Hoo and Yahoo Breakfast for Pre-K and Kindergarten parents on Monday, August 12th from 7:30 am to 8:00 am on the Cafeteria stage. Please join us! Thank you!

Free Meals this Year!
Ranger Families,
I just wanted to let you know that for the 2024-2025 school year, Wetmore will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which will provide free breakfast and lunch to all students. You do not need to sign up for this program. It will automatically be provided as long as your child is a student at Wetmore!
This program will be provided at 48 eligible North East ISD campuses.
If your child transfers to another campus, you may need to fill out a free meal application and be approved in order to receive similar food benefits if the new campus is not in the CEP program.
If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me at 210-407-8800. Thank you so much!

Dismissal Information
KIN:
- After school program that you may enroll your child in. This will be held in our cafeteria on campus.
Daycare:
- Daycares are able to pick up you child safely at the end of every school day. This is selected and arranged by you.
Bus Riders:
- For those who ride the bus/qualify for bus services to take you home and/or bring you to school daily.
Walkers:
- Will meet you at the marquee. Please note that you cannot park in the school's parking lot to pick them up. You can walk from the one of the neighborhoods to come and pick up your child.
Car Rider Line (Located in the back of the school):
- Must have a car tag that is picked up from a parent/guardian with a valid ID from our front office. We will give you two car tags, we are not able to give more than that. You can pick it up at Meet the Teacher Night or on the first day of school during the school day or before the first day of school (between Meet the Teacher night and the First day of school). We suggest you pick up the car tag, even if your child is in KIN or rides the bus, because you never know if you may have to change the way you pick up your child and pick them up in the car rider line every once in a while.
- Place the car tag in the rearview mirror.
- We have a list of the numbers that are on each car tag, so we are able to safely place every child into the correct vehicle.
- Adults picking up a child in the car line are to remain in their vehicle at all times.
- Remember the car tag implies parental consent for the student(s) to be released to the driver. **If you do not have a car pick up sign, then you will need to park, go to the front office, and show ID.
- Please stay in your car, pull up to the last cone, have your door unlocked, and please pull up when the line moves. Students will enter the car through the door closest to the sidewalk; they cannot run around to the other side.
- We have a buckle station if you need to get out to buckle your child up in the backseat.
In the event that a car rider student must be signed picked up early, then you will sign them out from the main lobby's front office, before 2:15 pm, and the adult must be either a custodial parent, legal guardian, or on the emergency pick up list.
Parent Walk Up:
- In order to significantly reduce congestion and traffic for the safety and security of our students. We are urging everyone to please remain in cars and use our car line. Therefore, parking and walking up to get your child, is not allowed. Please see the above options of how to pick up your child.
- Please remember to pick up your child at 2:45 p.m. on regular dismissal days. Thank you!
