Winter 2025 Newsletter
A New Year’s Note from the Executive Director
Dear SASD Families & Friends,
Happy New Year! As we begin 2025, I’m reminded of the power of community and the hope it brings to the important work of educating the next generation. Together, we are laying the foundation for brighter tomorrows—nurturing dreams, igniting curiosity, and equipping young minds with the tools they need to thrive.
This newsletter highlights our achievements and opportunities we hope to create in the coming year. It features stories of impact and innovation, updates on exciting initiatives, and opportunities to get involved in shaping the future of our students.
The work of education is a shared privilege, and your continued support sends a powerful message to every child: You are seen, you are supported, and your future matters. As you read through this newsletter, I hope you’ll be inspired to consider how you can join us in our work. You can make a difference, whether it's your time, talent, treasure, or a combination of the three.
Thank you for being a vital part of this journey. Let’s make 2025 a year of hope, resilience, and boundless possibilities for every student.
Warm regards,
RuthE Potter, CEFL
Executive Director
Generations in Ink
On December 3rd, the IVEF hosted a heartwarming luncheon celebrating the meaningful connections formed between students in Mrs. Momsen's Creative Writing class and residents of the Peter Becker Community through the Generations in Ink program. In this unique program, students interview residents to learn about their life stories and then craft a short story based on their experience. Opportunities for learning, understanding, and mutual respect are created by bridging the gap between generations.
We look forward to continuing to support this program, which emphasizes the importance of fostering multigenerational relationships, for years to come! Stay tuned for our Spring update on the Wonder and Wisdom Book Club with SAHS students and residents from Souderton Mennonite Homes.
EITC: Thank you Univest and First Citizens Community Bank
THANK YOU to Univest Financial and First Citizens Community Bank for their support through their participation in the state of Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).
Thanks to their generosity, the IVEF can fund a supplemental Elementary Math program, Building Fact Fluency. This program will equip teachers with the tools to provide enrichment and remediation opportunities to help students grasp fundamental math concepts.
