Seniors! Mock Job Interview Dates
Mock job interviews will take place next week on Tuesday the 12th, Wednesday the 13th & Thursday the 14th. The date and time of your individual interview is posted on the SUN network site under senior mock job interviews – dates & times. This is an exciting learning opportunity for you. If you are nervous, that is okay. If you are anxious because you’ve never had an interview, that is also okay. The purpose is to help you grow and improve this necessary skill. There are numerous business and community members who are excited to participate and share this great learning experience with you.
Here are a few important reminders…
1) Dress for success (visit the Lion Locker if you are in need of any business attire)
2) Complete your cover letter and resume, and print it prior to the day of your interview (see one of your teachers, stop in the HUB or see Mr McCleary in the career center if you need help with printing)
3) On the day of your interview, be sure to arrive at the HUB about 5 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time
And lastly, remember that the question (tell me about yourself...) is your chance to talk about key accomplishments at previous jobs or volunteer activities, highlight the strengths and skills you have demonstrated in school and how these strengths and skills relate to on the job performance.
Happenings Around the School
Twenty Concert Choir students recently performed at the inaugural York County Chorus Festival. They sang under the direction of Dr. Zeuch from Lebanon Valley College.
FBLA
Recently at York College two members of FBLA participated in the Bold Future Leadership Summit. They participated in a group networking activity which gave them the opportunity to converse with students from other schools that share each others interests. Students participated in open discussion prompting us to discover their leadership strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, participants listened to and asked questions to a panel of female leaders who explained their experiences in the business world as well as a panel of York College students who are business-oriented majors. They even talked about struggles they have experienced over their tenure and how they persevered. Following lunch, the students got to meet a few of the students on the panel and discuss questions with them relating to situations with business and transitioning to college from high school.
RL was positively represented by two actively engaged and curious future leaders!

FFA Fruit and Butter Braid Sale
It's that time of year again, the FFA has started their annual Fruit Sale. We truly do appreciate your support each year. The money from this fundraiser is used for leadership conferences, skills events, and chapter bonding events.
Please use this link to see what delicious fruit and cheesecake we are selling this year. You can place your order directly on the website. Please use Red Lion Area FFA as the seller unless a member asks you directly. Prices are the same as last year.
We recognize that the quantity of fruit can be too much and have a $5 bag option of at least 6 pieces of fruit. Please use this link to order the $5 bags. The bags can be paid for at pick up.
We are also selling Butter Braid Pastries. These pastries come frozen and you thaw and bake them when you are ready. We tried samples of a few of the varieties and they are delicious! This was a huge success last year.
Online orders are due by November 17th with a delivery date of December 3rd. Pick up will be available from 3-5:30 on the 5th. Pick up will occur outside of the Tech Wing (by the track) at the Senior High. If you need to make a different arrangement, please let Krista Moser know. (moserkm@rlasd.net)
