Term 4 Week 6 - Thursday 16 November, 2023

Term 1 Week 9 - Thursday 3 April 2025
PRAYER
God of all people, God of love,
Just as the colours of a rainbow
blend and merge to form one rainbow,
So too may the colours of our different cultures and beliefs,
blend and merge in our families, our communities and throughout our world,
through mutual respect and acceptance,
so that we may come together in true harmony.
Amen
Calendar of Events
Recess/Lunch Time
This term we trialled a 30min recess and 30min lunch instead of 20min recess and 40min lunch. The trail data has shown that there have been less incidents and generally the students have come into class more settled. As this trial has been successful we are going to continue with it being a permanent fixture of the school moving forward. I thank our staff and students for being flexible and adaptable to this new arrangement.
Colour Explosion
The Colour Explosion tomorrow promises to be a very exciting day. Our P&F have worked extremely hard to get this event up and running and I can’t thank them enough for the work they have done. Lets hope the weather plays nice tomorrow afternoon.
Parent Teacher Interviews
This year our Kindy to Year 6 staff will conduct their Parent/Teacher interviews on Friday 11th April. The teachers will be available for a face to face or online meeting on this day. A link to book in these meetings was sent last week. Please let the teachers know if you would like a face to face or online meeting on this day. Please note this is a pupil free day.
Yr 4 Assembly
I am really looking forward to watching our Year 4 class perform their assembly item in the hall tomorrow morning (4th April). Please remember we start our assembly items at 8.50am. I know there will be a lot of family members there to support our Year 4 class. It promises to be lots of fun!
Stations of the Cross
This year we will be holding our Stations of the Cross prayer reflection on Thursday 10th April at 9am. Each class will be involved in preparing two stations and it will be held outside in the school grounds.
The Stations of the Cross is a powerful way to contemplate, and enter into, the mystery of Jesus' gift of himself to us. Parents/Carers are welcome to join us for this reflection.
Volunteering
The Government of WA have amended the Working with Children Act last year with the changes implemented to better protect children. Catholic Education WA has mandated this process for all volunteers, including parent volunteers in schools. This includes parents who wish to volunteer at sports carnivals, in classrooms and at P&F events. Could we ask that all parents fill in the Volunteer Declaration (link) even if you have no plans at this stage to volunteer at school. If you filled out the form last year you will need to do it again this year. Parents who wish to assist teachers on excursions will need to be on this list. Your information will be stored securely in accordance with CEWA’s Information Stewardship. We highly value parent volunteers' time and contribution to our school community and thank-you for taking the time to submit the form below.
Any grandparents that wish to volunteer in the classroom or assist in the canteen will need a Working With Children Check. Please note this does not include drop off, pick up or attendance at our Grandparents Mass and Morning Tea. Grandparents that would like to volunteer at school, please contact the school office and we can assist you in the process.
Best Wishes
Mark Ryan

MJR Awards
Charlotte has shown the Spirit of Jesus through kindness, respect and compassion. She demonstrates these values by showing a genuine kindness for others in her quiet and caring way. Just as Jesus did this in His life and ministry. His message calls us to love one another as I have loved you. (John 13:34)
Charlotte you are a Making Jesus Real star.
Cricket Carnival
Although it was a very hot day last Friday, our cricketers made it through and had fun.
Some wins, some losses, but as always Queenies conducted themselves very well.
Thank you to Miss Moro, Mr Ryan and parent helpers for assisting on the day.
Best result was the girls B team who placed 2nd.
