The Next Eight Weeks
As we head into the longest stretch of the school year here are some reminders:
- Attendance matters
- Students are more likely to succeed academically when they attend school consistently.
- Parents/Guardians, please continue to check your students' grades and look for missing assignments through A-HConnect.
- It is important to follow our school's procedures for picking up your student early
- Please help the school, your student and yourself by following our early pick-up procedures. See the segment below on our Procedural Expectations for picking up your student early.
- Avoid appointments and late arrival during upcoming MCA testing
- Students that come in late or need to leave during MCA testing times will need to make-up portions that they did not complete. This means students may miss out on other important classroom instruction, causing them to become academically behind.
- Students need to come to school with their Chromebooks fully charged and should bring their chargers with them to school on a daily basis.
- We are very limited on the amount of charges we have in the school. Coming with a fully charged Chromebook and having their charger as a back-up keeps the day running smoothly for both the student and staff.
- Student don't need a cell phone for educational purposes during the school day
- Cell phones are the biggest distractions for our students.
- A-H Schools middle school phone policy is that phones should be put away 7:55 a.m. - 3:05 p.m. At RMS, we will allow a student to use their phone in the presence of a staff member if permission has been given.
MCA Testing at RMS
In the coming weeks RMS Students will be taking the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA). Students in all grades (6-8) will spend the morning in their Royal Rally classrooms.

Tuesday, Apr 23, 2024 Math
Students in 8th grade will also be taking the MCA Science. This will take place in their Science class over 2 days, Tuesday, April 30th and Wednesday, May 1st.
Please keep the following in mind to assist your student with preparing for these tests:
Make sure they are well rested to have a clear mind.
Eat a good breakfast.
Make sure they arrive with a fully charged Chromebook and bring their charger with them.
Encourage them to do their best and take the tests seriously.
Please visit our website RMS Test Info for more information.

Attendance at Community Education Events
In order to provide a positive and safe environment for everyone we would like to highlight a couple of policies regarding student entrance into district activities.
Middle and elementary school students and younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult chaperone. Adult chaperone-to-student ratio is 1 adult : 2 students. Adult chaperones are expected to supervise students they escorted to the game at all times. Adult chaperones are NOT allowed to leave the Gymnasium without their students. Adult chaperones and students who are unable to follow these guidelines may be asked to leave the facility.
