Important Messages from Guidance, the Health Office, and the Media Center
From the Guidance Office:
Student Withdrawals - This message is exclusively for families planning to send their student(s) to a high school other than Roxbury High School or Eisenhower Middle School next year. All EMS/RHS-bound students and families may disregard the message below regarding the withdrawal process:
If your child is not attending RHS next year, they must be fully withdrawn from Roxbury's rolls as part of the registration process with their new school or district. This includes all Morris County Vocational Technical Institute Academy students, including the Sports Medicine Academy, which is hosted at RHS. Sports Medicine students must also withdraw, but can keep their Roxbury-issued Chromebook.**
Directions for student withdrawal:
As part of the registration process in your new school/district, you must submit a "student withdrawal request form" in the Genesis parent portal here in Roxbury. This will enable us to send your student's records to their new school and officially withdraw your student from Roxbury school district. Additionally your student's Chromebook and charger must be returned on their last day of school attendance to avoid fines or delays in the release or their records.
Once you are logged in, click on student data, then "forms", then "Student Transfer-Withdrawal Request" as pictured below. Please complete all appropriate fields of information in the form.
Thank you for your anticipated attention to this matter to ensure a smooth transition into your new school or district.

From the Health Office:
FALL SPORTS - Medical forms for fall school sports are due on 7/12/2024. Please do not date/submit any forms prior to 6/15/24, as they will expire prior to the start of the fall season. If your child intends on participating in a fall sport, information can be found on the school website. Just a reminder for our 8th grade families, physicals that were previously cleared are good for one year. If you are unsure if your child's physical examination has expired, please check with our nurse, Mrs. Hornung. Also note, that there is always some form of documentation that must be submitted each season for every sport. Even if the physical is still valid, update forms are required.
Looking to play fall sports at RHS? For students moving on to the high school, forms should be dropped off there by the deadline. There is a drop box at the security entrance where they can leave them in an envelope labeled “fall sports forms”. Please contact the Athletic Secretary, Ms. Ransegnola at dransegnola@roxbury.org if you have questions regarding the process for the high school.
MEDICATION - Self-carrying emergency medications such as epipens and inhalers, is
encouraged at the middle and high school levels. Please review this letter from
Mrs.Hornung regarding procedures for medications. Please contact the school nurse, Mrs.
Hornung at dhornung@roxbury.org, if you have questions regarding the process.

From the Media Center:
BOOK RETURNS - It is time for all students to return all of their library books. Please remind your student to find their books and return them to the ELC immediately. Encourage them to look through their lockers and their homes. We will be blocking Genesis for any outstanding books, which will delay your ability to view end-of-year report cards and potentially next-year schedules. Please contact kpalanchi@roxbury.org if you have any questions or concerns regarding missing books.
