Class Placement
Dear Huckleberry Hill School Families,
It is time to think about student placement for the 2025-2026 school year. Our goal is to build classes where all students thrive and grow academically and socially. Due to the complex nature of this process, parent requests for placement of their own children with individual students cannot always be honored. Our professional staff will make the final determination in the process, considering what is best for HHS.
If you have information to share, please complete the google form below indicating the single most important factor you would like us to consider (examples: learning style, cousins who can/can't be together, student mismatches, etc.). If you are a parent of multiples, please indicate in the form if you would prefer your children to be in the same classroom or separated.
We will not keep letters from year to year, so any letter written in the past will not be considered for the next year's placement. It is important to understand that your comments will be shared with teachers after the Principal has read them. Also note that requests for specific teachers cannot be honored.
Please note:
All classrooms at the HHS have a diverse population of students who are neurotypical and children who are neurodivergent. All our classrooms are designed to ensure that every child, no matter what their individual needs or barriers to learning, has equal access to learning and the same opportunities to achieve.
Huckleberry Hill staff cannot take calls or schedule conferences regarding specific placement requests. As always, let us assure you that we understand the importance of student placement and will continue to seriously weigh all available information in order to create classes where every student will be happy and successful.
Writing a letter is completely voluntary and please know that it will not impact the care and consideration that is put forth into all of the placement decisions.
If you choose to share your placement thoughts and concerns, complete the Google Form no later than Thursday, April 17, 2025. Any letters received after this date will not be considered.

LET Grants
Spring Grant Recipients
We are thrilled to share that Caroline Corcoran and Audrey Bekeritis received a LET Grant for a Chill Zone! This grant will help to create a private space for students to regulate their bodies and emotions. This space will be offered to all students at HHS, and will be particularly useful for students needing private sensory breaks, quiet time, a movement break, or a change of scenery to promote learning. This project reflects best practices in place nationwide and - in particular - is similar to a LET-funded “Chill Zone” initiative already successfully in use at Summer Street School.
