Bolt's Bulleton
April 2024
Skyline Families,
April showers bring May flowers!
This month our students will be learning about Habit 6: Synergize. This is one of my favorite habits! Synergize says: I value other people's strengths and learn from them. I get along with others, even people who are different than me. I work well in groups. I seek out other people's ideas to solve problems because I know that by teaming with others, we can create better solutions than what any one of us could alone. I look for third alternatives.
Learning about Habit 6 will teach students to:
- Express and present information and ideas clearly in oral, visual, and written forms.
- Use their own unique talents and abilities to the fullest; value others' talents and abilities.
- Cultivate the ability to inspire, motivate, and draw out the best in others.
- Communicate and work as a team in a multicultural and interdependent world.
- Show initiative and entrepreneurialism.
As students return to school after Spring Break it's always good practice to remind our students of our school-wide S.T.O.R.M expectations. At our school, students are expected to be a STORM student by demonstrating:
- Safety
- Teamwork
- Ownership
- Respect
- Mindset
We encourage you to review our expectations in our hallway, bathroom, lunchroom, and recess with your child(ren) and check-in with them to see how they are demonstrating their leadership skills by following the expectations in these unstructured settings.

Habit 6: Synergize
Think of 1+1=3 (or more)
How is that possible? Well, 1 person + another person = 2 ideas + many, many more that neither of them would have thought of alone. Itβs taking good ideas and making them better by working together. Synergize is a great tool for families.
