BSES Weekly Announcements

BSES Families,

This week our entire fourth grade gathered for a combined morning meeting. We spent time greeting one another, sharing, and engaging in an activity. This time allowed us to get to know one another more and interact with new and old friends.

We also began lunch bunch with our kindergarten classes. We came together in our newly renovated LGI to enjoy lunch with both Mrs. Baggio and Mrs. Carey's classes this week. we look forward to gathering with all of our classes throughout the school year.

Next week, Picture Day will take place on Thursday, October 5th. Please read below for more detailed information.

The Garnet Valley School District will be implementing a new parent app, Stopfinder, starting October 2, 2023. Stopfinder is the easy-to-use, all-in-one app that allows you to have the most accurate information about your student’s bus schedule at anytime from anywhere.

During the week of October 10-13, our community partner for over 20 years, the Delaware County Victim Assistance Center, will be visiting our school. Their educators will be presenting safety prevention programs at each grade level, as they do in all Delaware County schools.

On Wednesday, October 4 at 6:30 PM, we invite you to learn more about these upcoming lessons at our first Parent Education Night of the year. Kim Jester, Director of Education for the Delaware County Victim Assistance Center, will be presenting and available to answer any questions you may have. The Safety Patrol is comprised of hallway, bus & carline safeties who serve the school daily by warmly greeting students and monitoring the hallways to keep everyone safe during arrival and afternoon dismissal. The following group will serve throughout the month of October. We thank them in advance for their service.

Get ready to smile! We are preparing for Bethel Springs Elementary Picture Day on Thursday, October 5th. If you are interested in purchasing pictures, you may send in the order form with your child on picture day. Pictures may also be purchased through Barkdale’s website using the online access code provided on the picture day form OR by clicking the picture below. The online code is 01766IN.

Would you like your child to learn SPANISH and/or GERMAN?

VEFLS (Voluntary Elementary Foreign Language Studies) will be offering Spanish and German classes which will begin the 3rd week of October at Bethel Springs Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. Classes will be held 1x/week for a total of 20 classes. All classes begin at 8:15 AM and dismissal is at 8:55 AM. Students then proceed directly to their homerooms.

Please complete this VEFLS Enrollment Form if you are interested in your child participating.

All game proceeds go to GVSD Libraries and Labs. All proceeds from food and drink sales go to Hearts to Homes.

To purchase a soft pretzel snack for a student for all 8 pretzel Fridays, please fill out the form below and send $10 per student to BSES-HSA Venmo (QR code below) or send $10 in cash to school in an envelope with a note including the student’s and homeroom teacher’s name by Friday, 10/6.

*Advance payment by 10/6 is required. We will not be accepting monthly orders/payment this year.

Thank you to those who have placed an order for our Charleston Wrap online fundraiser! We have a goal of earning $2000 to be used towards our 2023-2024 HSA events and activities. Orders can still be placed through 10/10/23.

Complete the three (3) steps below to participate:

"Keeper of the Trail" involves spending a few hours with your student(s) during a week of your choice to care for the Bethel Springs Nature Trail located behind the school. A reminder will be sent with a link to the checklist of what to bring and do. Have fun exploring the trail with your family as your student(s) share their outdoor education experiences they’ve had during the school year. Have a great time observing and exploring!
