๐ Bus Transportation
Bus registration is now closed, however families new to Milton Public Schools can register their child at the link below. Please read all details on the registration form before registering your child.
Seat assignments will be made consistent with the procedures used for the 2022-2023 school year. In accordance with MA State Guidelines, MPS guarantees free transportation for students in Kindergarten through sixth grade who live two miles or more from their assigned school using Google Maps. The remaining seats will be filled based on distance from school with priority given to students living farthest from their assigned school on each route. Seats on the bus are limited and we expect MPS will not be able to accommodate all requests. We are asking for parent/guardian support and cooperation as we deal with the challenges of transportation by encouraging families with alternative transportation to utilize these methods to allow MPS to accommodate those families without other means of transportation.
All information can be found on Transportation website.
๐ Milton Community Schools Before and After School Programs
๐ Milton Food Service
All information can be found at Food Service Website.
Students have the option to bring lunch from home or purchase it at school. Students buying breakfast or lunch at school can take advantage of the option to prepay their meal accounts. Families are encouraged to set up an online account so they can view transactions and stay current with their child's balance. You can also sign up for a low balance alert. The online website to sign up for meals is www.myschoolbucks.com. Please be aware new student ID numbers will not be available until mid-August.
If families prefer, they can still send in a check for payment written out to the Milton School Food Service Program, with their child's FULL NAME in the memo section. Checks can be dropped off in the main office of your child's assigned school in the locked mailbox marked "lunch checks".
Families who have previously qualified for the Free and Reduced program should re-apply as benefits do not roll over, and send applications to the Food Service Director. Families who automatically qualify in the Free or Reduced meal plan will be contacted by the Food Service Director. Communication will be by a letter via the USPS from Natalia Perez, Food Service Director. Families enrolled in the free or reduced program could be eligible for other state benefits. Families can apply anytime during the school year by filling out an online application found on the food service website.
A message from the MPS Director of Nursing regarding food allergies:
MIlton Public Schools is not โallergen freeโ or โnut free.โ As a public school with over 4,000 students, MPS cannot be allergen free - but staff, students and families can work together to create a respectful space for children and families with food allergies. All snacks brought into the classroom should be nut free and all food supplied by Milton Public schools cafeteria is nut free. Gluten, Dairy, Egg and other allergies can be accommodated when accompanied with a MD note from the student's pediatrician. In addition to nut free classroom snacks, your student's teacher may reach out with additional snack restrictions based on individual classroom makeup.
