Upcoming Winter Coat Drive

Please help others in need during this holiday season. We want to ensure that everyone, whether they are an adult or child has access to a warm coat as the temperatures begin to drop!

You are welcome to start bringing in coats as soon as possible (or wait to the official start date of collection).

We so appreciate your support and help with this community service project!

Halloween Costumes

Helpful Reminders

As you are selecting your child's costume, please keep these guidelines in mind:

No inflatable costumes
No props that would be considered a weapon
No masks
No excessive make-up that a student could not wear the entire day or would need to apply

Late Arrivals

If your child arrives after 8:30am, please make sure you are coming into the main office to sign them in.

Elementary Handbook: When your child arrives after the official start time, parents are required to sign their child in at the school office. Students who leave school early for reasons of illness, appointments, or notes from home will be released only to the parent unless prior arrangements have been made through the school office. Parents are required to sign their child out in the office.

Satchel Pulse Parent Input

The Satchel Pulse screener is similar to a temperature check - it provides us with a quick view of what your student is doing in different areas like decision-making, organization, and managing stress. These skills are important and continue to grow as your student gets older. Using this screener, teachers can adjust how they teach your student and give extra help where it's needed. It helps students become better at making decisions, building relationships, staying focused, and managing stress. Additionally, it gives families a better idea of what your student is good at and where they might need some extra help. This can guide you in supporting your student's learning at home and understanding how they're developing.

In addition, the screening results give the school team important information to help them make decisions about how to teach your student. Your student might show different skills in different places, like at school versus at home. As a crucial part of your student's team, we value your input on their development in these skills to understand them better. Huntley 158 Virtual Bulletin Board

The Huntley 158 Virtual Bulletin Board (VBB) is a way to connect Huntley 158 families with enrichment and educational events and programs in the community. This year, rather than receiving a separate email, families can find these opportunities on the district’s Virtual Bulletin Board webpage in our weekly newsletter. We encourage you to click the link and check out what’s happening for students and families in the community!

To submit a program or event for inclusion on the Huntley 158 VBB, organizations must be not-for-profit or a taxing body based in Huntley 158 boundaries or a surrounding community. Please email your event flyer in PNG or PDF format to kimoore@district158.org and include "VBB" in the subject line. To ensure accessibility for all, flyers must be accompanied by a brief description of your event that includes the name of your event, date, time, location, call to action/website link (if applicable) as well as contact information.
