Recognitions from the School and Board

On October 22, the Riverwalk Academy Board recognized our 3 principals (Mr. Ball, Ms. McCray, and Dr. Dempsey) in honor of Principal Appreciation Month.

Ms. George was recognized as our York Tech campus Teacher of the Month of October.

Ms. Martin was recognized as our elementary Teacher of the Month of October.

Action Items

The Board Approved the 2025 - 2026 School Calendar (K-12)

Head of School Evaluation

The Board voted in agreement that the Head of School is in compliance with the Head of School Succession Plan expectations.


Appointment of 2 Board Members

The Board voted to approve the appointment of 2 board members: Dr. Derrick Bennett, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at York Technical College and Mr. Mack Wallace, Business Development & Market Manager at Piedmont Medical Center. If they accept the position, they'll be sworn in during the November 19, 2024 Board Meeting.
