CFHS Charge Up!
October 27, 2024
A MESSAGE FROM BRIAN FORSHEE, CFHS PRINCIPAL
As we approach the end of the 2nd six weeks this Friday, I want to remind everyone to ensure that all assignments are submitted on time. This is a crucial moment in the semester, and completing your work will significantly impact your overall progress. All assignments must be turned in by the end of the school day this Friday. Please take a moment to check that everything is complete. If you have questions or need help, don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers.
We want to inform you about the recent senior questionnaire conducted for Tomas High School. Out of 440 juniors surveyed, we received an 80% response rate, with only 37 students expressing interest in moving to Tomas High. Consequently, there isn’t enough interest to support a senior class for the 2025-2026 school year.
As a result, 11th graders from Foster and Fulshear High Schools will remain at their current campuses for their senior year. Tomas High will operate as a 9th-11th grade campus next year.
As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a positive and respectful learning environment, we will be conducting dress code sweeps this week. Following last week’s tardy sweep, we want to ensure that all students are adhering to our dress code policy.
What to Expect:
- Dress Code Checks: Dress Code Sweeps will be happening throughout the week.
- Non-Compliance: Students who are not in dress code will be required to report to the library to meet with administrators.
- Returning to Class: To return to class, students must obtain a pass from the admin team. Please note that you will not be allowed back into class without this pass.
Reminder: Cell phones must be put away while at school - see cell phone policy below
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Adhering to the dress code and cell phone policy helps create a focused and respectful atmosphere for everyone. If you have any questions about the dress code, please see more information below.
-Good Luck to Shepherd Steen as he competes at the UIL 6A State Cross Country Meet on Friday.
-Good Luck CFHS Marching Band who competes Saturday at UIL 6A Area Marching Band Contest
As always, we are here to help! If you have questions AFTER READING THOUGH ALL THIS INFORMATION, please contact your student's Assistant Principal for help! I have included their contact info below to make it easy for you.

2025-2026 Rezoning for Families of Current 5th – 11th Grade Students
The Lamar CISD Board of Trustees approved new secondary campus zones for the 2025-2026 school year, and I am writing to inform you of some important changes that may affect your child’s campus assignment starting in the 2025-2026 academic year if they are currently in grades 5 - 11. To determine if you and your family will be impacted by the rezoning, please follow the steps below.
- Go to the Lamar CISD website – www.lcisd.org
- At the top of the page, click on “Find My School”
- Using the dropdown arrow next to “School Year 2024-25”, select “School Year 2025-26”
- Begin entering your home address in the search bar
- Once you see your address, click on that address
- On the lefthand side of the site, you will see the elementary, middle school, junior high school, and high school that your home is zoned for in Lamar CISD
Families who are impacted by the rezoning will be directly contacted to provide detailed information regarding these changes later this school year.
Should you have any immediate questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Department of Enrollment Management directly at 832-223-0424. You can also reach out to me if you have any questions as well. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
