Linden Elementary's April Updates

Principal's Message
As we wrap up the month of March and look ahead to April, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible effort and enthusiasm our students have shown during our March is Reading Month celebration. It’s been inspiring to see our students so engaged in reading and actively participating in the exciting activities and challenges we’ve offered. The dedication they’ve demonstrated in completing their reading logs and embracing the joy of learning is something to celebrate!
As April begins, we know the pace will pick up as springtime arrives. The warmer weather brings with it evenings filled with sports, dance recitals, ice cream runs, and many other fun activities. While these moments are full of joy, they can also shift our focus from typical daily routines. We encourage you to continue prioritizing early bedtimes and school attendance to help your child stay on track. There is still plenty of learning to be done, and we want to finish the year strong.
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, let’s keep the momentum going! Together, we can ensure students stay focused, engaged, and ready to reach their full potential.
Please stay connected with your child’s teacher for updates on upcoming spring events and volunteer opportunities. Your support is vital in helping our students achieve their best.
Thank you for your continued partnership. Let’s make April a month of growth, achievement, and new opportunities!
Warm regards,
Jeannine Strickert
And the Winners Are... Linden El Students!
Many thanks to the Linden Masons Group for donating multiple bikes and other prizes to reward students for reaching their reading goals. Winners were announced March 28th at a whole school assembly. Thank you to our wonderful community!
End of the Day Transportation Reminders
We understand that sometimes circumstances arise that require your child to be picked up early. However, we kindly ask that early pick-ups be reserved for absolutely necessary situations. Here's why:
- The Office is Busy at the End of the Day: There are many moving parts to a smooth dismissal. Avoiding unnecessary office congestion helps prevent communication errors.
- Communication is Key: Any changes to your child’s pick-up plan need to be communicated to the teacher prior to 3:00 PM each day. This helps ensure a smooth and organized end-of-day process.
- Teacher Instruction: Our teachers work hard to teach and engage students until the very last minute of the day. Frequent disruptions can interfere with this important learning time.
- Consistency is Important: The final moments of the school day, including our pick-up procedures, help maintain a consistent and predictable routine for all students. This routine is essential for their emotional and academic well-being.
- Efficient Pick-Up Process: While the parent pick-up line might seem time-consuming, please rest assured that all students are typically loaded into their cars by 3:55 PM. We are committed to ensuring a safe, orderly, and timely pick-up process for all families.
- If you must pick up your child, PLEASE park in the lot, do not cut the line to pull to the front.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain an effective, consistent school day for all students.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
A Word from Officer Williams
Parking Lot Safety Reminder
As we prioritize the safety of our students, we ask for your help in keeping our parking lot safe and efficient. Here's how you can help:
- Children must stay seated in the vehicle during arrival and ensure their body is fully inside (no hanging out windows or sunroofs).
- Pull up as far as possible when dropping off or picking up to allow staff to assist more children and improve efficiency.
- This helps reduce traffic backup on Linden Rd and ensures safety.
Please remember:
- Remain in line and wait until it’s safe to exit.
- Our staff is guiding children, but please be aware that kids may act unpredictably.
- Your patience and attention are essential to avoid any hazards.
Thank you for helping us create a safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up experience for everyone!
