OPERATION HOLIDAY HOPE TO SUPPORT WILLIAMS ACADEMY IN WESTERN NC
GIFT CARD DRIVE TO SUPPORT FAMILIES IN WESTERN NC
On Monday, October 28th, GLOW Academy will launch Operation Holiday Hope, an initiative to support the families of Marjorie Williams Academy in Avery County who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Marjorie Williams Academy is a small, K-12 charter school with around 100 families, including students, teachers, and staff. After recent events, thier Principal, Ms. Austin, reports minimal damage to the school building itself, but their families have been significantly affected. Many families have at least one parent that has lost their job due to flooding, mudslides, and/or impassable roads.
Our goal for Operation Holiday Hope is to help the Williams Academy community enjoy a warm, comforting holiday meal. We are collecting $25 gift cards from stores in their area that are open and operational. This includes:
- Food Lion
- Walmart
- Lowes Foods
Please send gift cards in a sealed envelope marked Attention: Jen Wilson-Mathis, and drop them off at the front desk. Include your name, childβs grade level, and, if youβd like, a card or note of support.
We encourage you to share Operation Holiday Hope efforts to your co-workers, neighbors, family, and friends who may also like to donate!
Collections will end Monday, November 18th to ensure timely delivery to Principal Austin and distribution to families before their holiday break.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Jen Wilson-Mathis, Director of Admission + Community Outreach at jwmathis@beaconeducation.org or 910-338-5258 x105.
