Sabre Scene

Principal's Message
Dear Sabre Families;
We are just over a week away from the last day of exams for the 2023 - 2024 school year. There is a lot of information in this Sabre Scene so hang in there; there is something for everyone.
The last day of classes went very smoothly and I just wanted to thank all Sabres for conducting themselves with respect and integrity throughout the day. It was an emotional last few days for our grade 12s as they focused on exams and saying goodbye to their classmates.
To all of our supportive parents/caregivers, we say “thank you” for all of the support that you have given the school community throughout this past year. You are an amazing group of people to work with and you are so open to receiving communication from the school. Please have a look at the exam schedule linked below to see when your child is writing.
Indigenous Peoples Day - June 21

Festival Place Parking:
Thanks in part to student advocacy, paid parking at Festival Place has been reversed for the upcoming school year. This is a huge relief to all of our student drivers as it opens up many spaces for parking throughout the year. Salisbury is still working with EIPS and facilities to ensure the front lot is safe and available for students. We will be changing the traffic flow in front of the school for next year.
Door Locking Policy:
Next year, EIPS is implementing a door locking policy for the entire school division, including the high schools. We have been working on the plan for several months and will adapt next year as needed. Essentially, all outside doors will be locked throughout the instructional day, with numbered doors being open at certain times of the day. A camera has been installed at the north front entrance of the school for students who are late arriving or who are returning from an appointment. This is new to Salisbury so we will likely experience some growing pains, but with our usual Sabre resilience we will adapt quickly.
Lockers:
As our enrollment continues to grow, lockers for grade 11s and 12s will be available upon request. Like this year, all grade 10s will be assigned a locker in designated hallways. If your child, is in grade 11 or 12 next year and would like a locker for the 2024 - 2025 school year, please have your student complete the Google form.
CLICK HERE Your student must be logged into Google with their EIPS Username and Password in order to complete the survey.
Coaching:
I hope everyone is getting ready for an awesome summer!!! Our coaching staff for the 2024 - 2025 school year is almost full. However, if you are interested in coaching a SAL Team for the upcoming school year, please contact Grant Melnyk for further details at grant.melnyk@eips.ca
Back to School Start Up:
We will welcome Sabres back to school for locker assignments and student photos during the following schedule in August. For the grade 10s, SAIL students will be stationed throughout the school to help you find your lockers and assist with locks. Please note that these are not days for timetable changes as we do those through a Google Doc. Students will be able to view their timetables after August 20 and request timetable changes based on academic need after that.
In closing, have an excellent week and a wonderful summer and please do reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
