📣 Raising Children in the Digital Age
On Tuesday, Oct. 29th the district's Office of Family and Community Partnerships facilitated an informative discussion on Raising Children in the Digital Age. Families who attended found the information extremely valuable as they begin to navigate the digital/social media space with their children. Some of the big take aways were:
- the importance of building healthy digital habits as it relates to social media and screen time
- considering device-free zones or times, such as during family meals or before bed
- developing routines around when and how devices are used
- modeling positive digital behavior; children are quick to mimic adults, so being mindful of your own screen time, avoiding overuse, and demonstrating respectful communication online are all important
- emphasizing online safety; educate children on internet safety, privacy, and the importance of not sharing personal information. Help
- helping children understand how to recognize unsafe content or interactions and how to report them
- encouraging open communication and creating a safe space for children to ask questions or talk about what they experience online. When children feel comfortable discussing digital encounters with their parents, it builds trust and openness.

💡 Reminders
1. IMPORTANT DATES 📆
There's still time to support our Poppin' Popcorn Fundraiser. It ends Monday, Nov. 4th! 🍿
2. ASK YOUR CHILD ABOUT ❓
Fall Field Day! What was your child's favorite activity? How did they show The Clover Way during the activities?
3. FOOD DELIVERY
To help minimize disruptions during the school day, please do not order food delivery services like Uber Eats or DoorDash for students during school hours. While we understand the convenience, these deliveries interfere with our school operations and may lead to missed instruction time.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a focused and productive learning environment!
4. CHANGING YOUR CHILD'S REGULARY SCHEDULED DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
If you need to change your child's regularly scheduled dismissal procedure, please call the office by 2pm. When calls come in during our dismissal procedures it causes confusion. Emails to teachers at 3pm may not been seen as classes are in the closing circle/reflection time.
