This week brings the end to our Report Card term. This is a VERY important term as it affects eligibility for many upcoming events including UIL, Pop Show Auditions, Pop Show Performances, as well as choir placements for next year. This week, students will have their last sight reading assignment in Schoology and is a MAJOR GRADE. Please check in with your child this week to encourage them to finish work for all classes including choir.

Pre-UIL Contest will take place throughout the day on March 21 and March 22. This is a required event for ALL students and will take place at Sugarland Methodist Church. Transportation is provided for the event. All students will need to bring their formal uniform (tuxedos and dresses) to school on they day they perform and will change before we leave. Because all choirs will be traveling with me each day, PARENT HELP will be needed and greatly appreciated. If you are able to help chaperone and sit with students and walk through the process with us, please reach send me an email when convenient. The schedule is posted below:

Thursday, March 21

Treble Choir (1st Period)

• Warm-up 12:55 pm
• Concert at 1:20 pm
• Sight-Read at 1:40 pm

Tenor-Bass Choir (2nd Period)

• Warm-up at 2:15 pm
• Concert at 2:40 pm
• Sight-Read at 3:00 pm

Friday, March 22

Advanced Treble Choir (4th Period)

• Warm-up at 12:15 pm
• Concert at 12:40 pm
• Sight-Read at 1:00 pm

Chorale (3rd Period)

• Warm-up at 1:35 pm
• Concert at 2:00 pm
• Sight-Read at 2:20 pm

Varsity Treble Choir (3rd Period)

• Warm-up at 2:55 pm
• Concert at 3:20 pm
• Sight-Read at 3:40 pm

Pre-UIL Parent Preview CONCERT will take place on March 21st at 7 pm. Call time is 6:15 pm. Formal uniforms required (Dress and Tuxedos). I do apologize that this overlaps and puts a lot of events in a very short amount of time, however, this calendar was decided before I arrived at Travis so I appreciate everyone's flexibility.

Varsity Treble Rehearsals:

This announcement only applies to Sopranos and Altos in Chorale. This is a reminder of the remaining rehearsals for our Varsity Treble Ensemble. It is VERY important that all students are present at every rehearsal. The schedule was emailed out in December and only emergencies are considered excused absences. Please ensure your student is aware of the rehearsal schedule and makes arrangements to attend.

1. Monday, March 4th 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
2. Monday, March 18th 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm (with Clinician)
3. Monday, March 25th 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
4. Monday, April 1st TBD

EVERYONE: Graduation for Travis has been announced to take place on Thursday, May 23rd at 7:30 pm at the new Fort Bend Epicenter. This is a required performance for all Chorale students so please be sure to mark your calendars now. Transportation will be provided for students.

Choir fees are now past due but you can still pay in installments via Revtrak. For a description of choir fees, please see the document on the choir website under the "Documents" tab. You can find the RevTrak link below or via the choir website under "Choir Fees." Students need to have their full choir fee paid in order to take their uniform home.

Now that our year is in full-swing, I'd like to again remind parents that in order to volunteer you MUST have the FBISD Background check completed. We will be needing volunteers for social events, trips, and assistance during contests and concerts, so PLEASE consider filling out this form as soon as possible to ensure the district office has time to process it.
