An Important Note from Attendance and Nurse Brenda:
If your child is ill and does not check out through the clinic the absence will be recorded as unexcused. All students who need to check-out due to illness need to be seen by nurse Brenda prior to being picked up by their parent. In addition, if your child tests positive for COVID please notify nurse Brenda as soon as possible (f40674@forsyth.k12.ga.us).
A Note from Nurse Brenda:
As we continue to see illnesses spread, please keep these guidelines in mind when determining if a student should be at school or returning to school following an illness.
Mr. Naran Butler is Riverwatch's School Social Worker, and he does so much for our students and staff, often behind the scenes. He is a great liaison for our families when additional services are needed. He works directly with students and is a partner to counselors. In addition, he consults with teachers and staff, and works directly with agencies to facilitate support. He is a superb model of advocacy and resiliency! Riverwatch is lucky to shares his services with Sharon ES, Brookwood ES, and Lambert HS. Make sure and tell him thank you if you see him around!

Many congratulations to all of our students that competed this year. There is a lot tougher competition as many of the middle schools have started their own HOSA branches, so it is harder than ever to place in our middle school events. This year we had 52 students that competed. Most everyone placed in the top 5 but the following individuals and teams won medals for their placement and have been invited to attend International Leadership Conference held this summer in Texas:
Foundations of Medical Terminology – Adhrit Gopi (2nd place)
Foundations of Veterinary Science – Moxie Sivakumar (2nd place)
Dynamic Decisions – Nila Prabhu, Avni Kotharkar, Anika Vasisht, Dhiya Prabhu (2nd place)
HOSA Bowl – Rochan Saireddy, Cade baker, Ayushi Sharma, Arani Pittu (1st place)
Health Career Exploration – Vishesh Sood (3rd place)
Health Career Exploration – Deeksha Parchur (2nd place)
Health Career Display – Isha Rao & Anushka Venkatdas (2nd place)
Public Health – Saanvi Chinta, Sharanya Chandran, Shanya Pepala, Naomi Ng Yan Tun, Maryam Ansari and Tanya Jha (3rd place)
Prepared Speaking – Sridattha Kukkadapu (3rd place)
Extemporaneous Health Poster – Catherine Shi (1st place)
In addition to these medals, Riverwatch (for the 7th straight year in a row) took home the award for the largest middle school chapter of HOSA students in the world!
Above all else, our Riverwatch Middle School students conducted themselves with kindness, politeness and professionalism….something I am really proud of. Many thanks to Mr. John James and Ms. Terri Farley for helping to chaperone this group.

Women's History Month
The roots of National Women’s History Month go back to March 8, 1857, when women from various New York City factories staged a protest over working conditions. The first Women's Day celebration in the United States was also in New York City in 1909, but Congress did not establish National Women's History Week until 1981 to be commemorated annually the second week of March. In 1987, Congress expanded the week to a month. Every year since, Congress has passed a resolution for Women’s History Month, and the president has issued a proclamation. Please take this opportunity to discuss the many contributions that women have made in history.
RMS Good As Gold Spotlight:
