Play a Role in Strategic Planning, Budget Priorities
The MRH Board of Education offers myriad ways for you to become involved in key decision-making across the District. Here's how to get started:
- Review this presentation on our website, then take a few moments to complete this VERY SHORT survey asking for your preferred areas of emphasis for District spending.
- Consider joining any of several Strategic Plan advisory committees by filling out our online form. The committees are linked to the 5 keys sections of the Plan: "For Our Students, Our People, Our Health, Our Resources, and Our Community."
Stay Current and Active With Your School Board
MRH is using an all-new platform for Board of Education agendas and supporting documents. Simbli offers superior content search features, related resources and general information about your Board.
MRH is still in the process of transitioning archival Board of Education meeting notices, agendas and related records to the new Simbli platform; meantime, you will still find archival material on the BoardDocs website.

Math Pilot Program Shows Early Promise
Since May, MRH teachers and administrators have been collaborating on a Math Resource Pilot for the current 2024-2025 school year. This pilot program involves PK-12 teachers who are using either Eureka Math or Illustrative Mathematics from Imagine Learning in their classrooms. Initial feedback from teachers is very positive – both resources seem to be significantly enhancing the math learning experience for students and make planning and preparing easier for teachers. To gain deeper insights, we'll be collecting more detailed feedback from teachers in the coming weeks.
The pilot program will conclude in December. Following a thorough evaluation, a recommendation for resource adoption will be presented to the Board of Education. Implementation of the chosen resource is anticipated for the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.
In alignment with Board policy and the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Curriculum Committee (formerly called the Teaching & Learning Council) systematically reviews each curricular area based on the District's assessments and other available data.
Remembering West Richmond, A.B. Green Schools
“Honoring Our History” was on full view Saturday at 1325 Boland Place in Richmond Heights, as former students and educators gathered to fondly remember their time spent at two yesteryear MRH schools.
West Richmond and A.B. Green Schools once stood on ground which today is Altair at the Heights, an upscale apartment community. A former West Richmond student, Carmen Pace-McFerren, organized Saturday’s event at an Altair recreational room. It was equal parts commemoration and reunion, as graduates shared warm memories of caring communities and tough-love teachers. This video provides a timeline of the schools' history as compiled by Ms. Pace-McFerren and recounted by current Richmond Heights mayor Reginald Finney and others.
Celebrating Regular School Attendance
Look who showed up for a surprise event this week at MRH Elementary School! That's Jax, the Blue Devil (did you know he actually has a name???). These students were celebrated for recognizing the importance of regular school attendance. Why is it so important to be in class, and ready to learn, every day? Read about it on our website.

The Blue Devil Spotlight for September 30
Students Take the Lead at Hispanic Families Celebration
The Blue Devil Spotlight this week is trained on MRH seniors Andrea Islas and Dakota Colbert, who conceived and executed the first MRH Hispanic Families Get-Together at Hummert Park in Maplewood. More than four dozen people showed up on a gorgeous afternoon for food, rock painting, and Loteria (a Mexican form of bingo). We congratulate these go-getters for their pride and initiative, and hope this tradition can carry on for years to come!
