Notice the Wrinkles!
Your gown will come out of the packaging wrinkled. Ironing it will ruin the gown, so it needs to be steamed. We have a steamer at FPCS that is available for your use. We will also have a steamer set up backstage at graduation with some sponsor teachers ready to take care of your gown for you before the ceremony. The wrinkles are very obvious in pictures, and we want your pictures to be special for you and your family.
Regalia Information - Can I Adorn My Cap?
Graduating students are expected to wear the attire customarily worn for the graduation ceremony at their school, with the specific exceptions outlined below.
A student may adorn the cap, gown, or stole customarily worn at their school with traditional objects of tribal regalia or recognized objects of cultural significance.
Furthermore, a student may choose to replace the graduation cap with cultural headwear.
For purpose of this protocol, the following items have the following meanings:
“Adornment” means something attached to, or worn with, the cap, gown, and stole customarily worn at school graduation ceremonies
“Cultural regalia” means formal wear used in recognized practices and traditions of a certain group of people
Adornments shall not include any alphabetical letters other than the student’s name(s) or numerals other than the graduating class (e.g. Class of 2022). Other written statements, phrases, or slogans are not permitted.
Nothing in this administrative regulation shall be construed to limit the school district’s discretion and authority to prohibit an item that is likely to cause substantial disruption of, or material interference with, the graduation ceremony.
Senior Bios
Seniors, the FPCS graduation includes each senior walking across the stage while a short bio is read about them. Please work with your family to develop this. Think about your personality, what you like to do in your free time, any awesome educational experiences you have had, whether you work, and lastly, what your plans are for after graduation. Some examples are below. Please email this bio to our assistant principal, Ashley Bukowski. bukowski_ashley@asdk12.org If you need any help with this, please reach out to your sponsor teacher, assistant principal, Ashley Bukowski, or principal, Laurie Matthews. matthews_laurie@asdk12.org
Walking Across the Stage
As you walk across the stage, your bio will be read, and you will shake hands with several people, to include the principal, a dignitary or two from the Anchorage School District leadership team, and a school board member.
Your Parents or Guardians Present Your Diploma
One of the special aspects of the FPCS graduation is that your parents or guardians will present you with your diploma on stage. After they present you with your diploma, a professional photographer will take a picture that we will be printing and sending to you.
An Opportunity to Visit for a Bit After Graduation!
After graduation, we will have a light snack to enjoy. This is also a great time to take family pictures with the grad!
Senior Spotlights
We will be spotlighting our graduates on social media. Will you please email a picture of yourself to our assistant principal, Ashley Bukowski? bukowski_ashley@asdk12.org. Examples from last year's graduates are below.

Slideshow Pictures!
We are putting together a slideshow to play before graduation begins. Please work with your family to provide 3-4 pictures of yourself for the slideshow. These can even be baby or childhood pictures. Please email them to our assistant principal, Ashley Bukowski. bukowski_ashley@asdk12.org
Work Samples and Grades are Due in the OLS for Graduates by Friday, May 10th!
If you have a unique situation, and need some extended time beyond the 10th to wrap up a class, make sure you are in close contact with your sponsor teacher.
