Message from our President
By the time that you read this, my term as your President will be very close to coming to an end. What a year it has been.
I thank you all for allowing me the true honor of having this job. The position of Rotary President is one that is not accomplished successfully by oneself. My Board… your Board, has played an integral role in making my job easier and very rewarding.
Coming out of over a year of COVID, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Would we be able to carry on our events, projects, fundraising and school activities? Would we have a robust return of our members to the weekly noon meetings? Would Rotarians just move on and not renew their membership? Would we attract new members at all? Well, the answer to all of these questions has been a resounding YES! Sure, there have been some challenges and modifications to all the above, but in true Rotarian form, we all rose to the occasion! Our club is healthy financially, growing in membership and most importantly attract those people that like to have fun and get involved. But, we must never rest on our laurels. This is an effort that must never be taken for granted. It takes work and engagement on all of our part. I believe we have that in our members and leadership going forward.
Ruby Rivera and her Board will be that new leadership. Ruby is bringing her experiences in her profession and family life , as well as her love for Rotary, to the job of President come July. We are in great hands.
In the words of a Rotarian I have come to look to as my mentor and of course dear friend, here are a few words for you Ruby… “We won’t let yah drown; if you go down, we all will, so that can’t happen”. Enjoy your year as President; it will be over in two blinks of an eye…and then it’s Jeff’s turn again!
In closing, I would like to say that I look forward to being involved as I have always been in the past and can’t wait to see what the future of our club holds.
Always In Rotary Service,
Brian B
