Kia ora koutou Parents and Macleans Primary Whānau
Another week at Macleans Primary means another week of learning and Macleans Values. This week also brings with it a few community events: Dads and Donuts tomorrow for all dads, grandads, uncles, in the staffroom at 10am for coffee and donuts; tomorrow afternoon is the Y4-Y6 'Open Classrooms' for all family and friends to pop along and view your child's learning in their class; Friday 30 August is the annual Gold Coin Daffodil Day Cancer Society Fundraiser, with a twist for Macleans Primary as it is PJ Day for the children. Children can wear PJs and bring a gold coin donation for the Cancer Society.
A reminder to please share with me any achievements by your child. Whether it be in sport, the arts, cultural or other! Perhaps you have soon a great example of the Macleans values at home. We know our Macleans students achieve great things, and we want to share them! Please email on m.cooke@macleansprimary.school.nz. I'd love to hear from you!
A final reminder about the next round of learning conference to be held on 11 and 12 September...online bookings open soon!

Life Education Fundraisers - Can You Help?
Life Ed. Fundraiser #1
One of our Life Ed. educators, Carleen, is 1 of 3 finalists for Westfield Local Heroes for Manukau Mall. The winner will win $20,000 for their organisation, and it is all down to public voting. This is where we need YOUR help! Head along to Westfield Manukau’s website and cast your vote for Carleen. If Carleen wins, this will help us continue to deliver lessons to the amazing tamariki of Counties-Manukau with our Healthy Harold programme. Voting closes 9 September, 8pm. We all thank you in advance!: #westfieldlocalheroes
Life Ed. Fundraiser #2
By voting for us at Z Harris Road, you can help us get a share of the $1 million Z is giving to community groups across Aotearoa New Zealand through Good in the Hood. Voting is from the 26 August to 22 September. So if you need to fuel up, and you're in the area, remember to pop into Z Harris Road, and put your little orange token into the Life Education Counties Manukau slot! It doesn't cost you any extra to vote, but it means the world to us!
