Hello MEA Family,
I have been a district employee for over 10 years. I started as a Special Education Technician in Elementary, Middle, and High School classrooms. Before joining the district, I worked in the finance field. Both experiences prepared me to work in the school office. I have three children - the oldest son is a junior at UCSD, the second son is a sophomore at SDSU, and the youngest daughter is a senior at PHHS. I have three lovely cats. I love spending quiet time with them, walking trails with friends, and watching Japanese Anime with my children. I am looking forward to meeting with you and getting to know all of you.

MEA Moment
Announcements
National School Counseling Week
Mr. Rubin continues to show his dedication to MEA students and families. Starting from the initial tour and enrollment, to following up with students on their progress, to helping plan the next year’s classes, and then guiding them on the path to college – Mr. Rubin takes care of our students! MR. RUBIN - We appreciate you and thank you for all you do! This week feel free to drop by his office, stop him on campus, or email your words of gratitude to arubin@sandi.net.
UCSD eSports Mentorship
Last Friday, students from Mt. Everest Academy kicked off an exciting esports mentorship program with UCSD's Triton Esports Team. During the session, they engaged with collegiate players in discussions about online citizenship and self-management, gaining valuable insights on navigating the digital world safely and handling toxicity in gaming communities.
This month, students will reconvene to explore the topic of Game-Life Balance: Health & Self-Care, where they will learn strategies for maintaining a healthy equilibrium between gaming, academics, and personal well-being.
This mentorship program not only bridges the gap between education and entertainment but also empowers students with valuable life skills in a collaborative and inspiring setting.
This program is open to all MEA students, 6th grade and up. If you are interested in joining future workshops, please reach out to Mrs. Keck. Students may attend the virtually or in person.
Leader in Me - Habit 6: Synergize
This month, our school is focusing on Habit 6: Synergize (Work together to achieve more)
Habit 6: Synergize is the major achievement of independent relationships: the ability to create synergy with another person. Synergy creates an outcome that’s greater than the sum of its parts, as in 1+1 = 3 or more.
In other words, two people working together can create greater results than would have been possible separately. Synergize proves the 7 habits work together by furthering communication skills.
