Celebrating Connections, Achievements, and Community Engagement
Last week was an incredible showcase of the strong partnerships and vibrant activities that make the Maple Run community so special. Thank you to all the families who attended parent-teacher conferences across our schools. Your commitment to being involved in your students' education plays a vital role in their success.
The week before the holiday break was packed with energy and excitement, as all our schools participated in Spirit Week! From creative costumes to fun-filled activities, students and staff came together to celebrate school pride and community spirit. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and joy throughout our district.
At Fairfield Center School, the month of November focused on the theme of RESPECT. Students explored ways to show respect throughout their school day, and each grade level nominated two students who demonstrated respect in outstanding ways. These students were recognized for their positive contributions to their classrooms and school community. Congratulations to the November RESPECT award recipients!
This week also featured a fantastic Board Meeting on Wednesday, where we highlighted some exciting opportunities for our students. BFA and NCTC students had the chance to visit the Federal Law Enforcement Border Patrol & Customs in Swanton in collaboration with FCIDC. They explored career paths, internships, and job possibilities, bridging the gap between education and real-world experiences.
At SATEC, they celebrated their first PAWSITIVE Assemblies of the year! On Friday, K-4 students gathered in the morning and grades 5-8 in the afternoon to recognize positive behavior and build school spirit. These assemblies were filled with energy, encouragement, and celebration.
Meanwhile, the BFA Theater department brought magic to life with their production of Beauty and the Beast. They hosted daytime performances for Maple Run students and four sold-out evening shows for the community. The dedication and talent of our students and staff left audiences in awe!
Adding to the excitement, Saint Albans City School wrapped up the week with a show-stopping event, The Masked Dancer. Before heading into the holiday break, the entire school came together for this fun-filled performance. Some of our school favorites took the stage, dazzling us with their best dance moves while keeping their identities a secret. The big reveal at the end brought the house down with cheers and wild applause as the performers unmasked!
As we reflect on the incredible accomplishments of the past week, let’s take a moment to appreciate the dedication, creativity, and collaboration that define our Maple Run schools. Together, we continue to build a community of learning and celebration.
Thank you for being an essential part of this journey!

A Magical Journey: Beauty and the Beast at BFA Theater
This past week, the BFA Theater Department brought the magic of Beauty and the Beast to life, and what an unforgettable experience it was! Featuring the talents of students and staff from all our Maple Run schools, the production was a true testament to the incredible creativity and collaboration within our community.
I had the distinct honor of making a cameo appearance as a Villager in the opening scene—a thrilling experience that allowed me to witness firsthand the dedication, energy, and teamwork that made this show possible. From the intricate set designs to the stunning costumes, captivating performances, and behind-the-scenes efforts, every detail came together seamlessly.
With four sold-out shows, the BFA Theater welcomed audiences from across our community, as well as Maple Run students during special school-day performances. The overwhelming support and enthusiasm from everyone involved—from cast and crew to the audience—truly embodied the spirit of Maple Run.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this production a success. To the students who poured their hearts into their roles, the staff who mentored and guided them, and the families and community members who came out to support—your contributions made this an extraordinary event.
This production reminded us of the power of the arts to bring people together, inspire creativity, and celebrate the talents of our community. Congratulations to the entire BFA Theater team on an amazing show!
