Senn-Thomas Middle School
August 26th - 30th
Welcome Back!
We had a great first two days of school, and we are excited about our first full week. Please take some time to read through this week's newsletter for updates and announcements from Senn-Thomas Middle School. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the main office, and we will help you. Have a fantastic week!
- If you haven't had the opportunity to complete the Chromebook agreement form, please do so this week. It is attached to this newsletter. In addition, you can pay the insurance fee via the Parent Portal.
- Please be sure to read the updated information regarding morning drop off. Please do not drop off students prior to 7:15 am. Thank you!
- I've included a PDF of the 2024-2025 Student Handbook. Please take a moment to read through this handbook. We have changed our building-wide cell phone policy, so please be sure to note that information.
- Bus routes can be found on our website and via the portal. Please let us know if you have any questions, and we will get you in touch with the transportation department.
- School pictures and MAP results from 2023-2024 were sent home with students on Friday. Please let us know if you have any questions. We will have a picture retake day in October. Information regarding ordering pictures will be shared with you when we get closer to that date.
- If you need any support or assistance with the parent portal, please complete the form included below. Mrs. McClain or Ms. Drury will call you to help with your questions.
- Please be sure to take a few minutes to complete the Free/Reduced lunch form. The form is included on this newsletter. If you prefer a paper copy, please feel free to call the office, and we will get one to you.
- Do you have a different email that you'd prefer for us to use? If so, please call the STMS main office and we will make that change for you.
- Please make sure to have your child charge his or her Chromebook each night before school. Thank you!
It was great seeing all of you during Open House. Thank you for your support as we start this new school year. Please feel free to email or call me if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Tracy Lewis

2024-2025 Calendar Highlights
Important Transportation Information
Morning Parent Drop-Off: Please be sure to drop students off in front of the main building. Students should not be dropped off at the gym as that is where buses will drop off students. In addition, when you are in the parent drop-off line, we ask that you do not pass other cars or pull into parking spots to back out. We want to ensure the safety of our students, families, and staff. Once you are in line, you will need to stay in the line. As you drop off your child, please pull up as far as you can to the first sign pictured below if you are the first car in line. Once you are in the area between the signs pictured below, your student may exit your vehicle. Please be sure to yield for buses dropping off students at the gym. All students will be entering the building through the main entrance. Thank you for your patience!
Afternoon Parent Pick-Up: Please park by the gym in order to allow the buses to leave the lot first. The buses will be lined up in front of the main building. As you exit, please remember that this area is a one-way drive. We appreciate the help!
Reminder, only buses will drop off students in the morning in front of the gym. Thank you!
As Students Arrive at School Each Day
Morning Arrival: Students will enter through the main doors (car riders) or the gym (bus riders). As they arrive, students will grab breakfast from one of the carts located in the main building. There will be a cart located both upstairs and downstairs. Once they pick up their breakfast, they are to go to their first hour class where they can sit and eat their breakfast and review the announcements before starting class. Students must be in class by 7:30 in order to not be counted tardy.
School Attendance
Please help us by reminding your child about the importance of school attendance. Missing just two days a week adds up quickly and creates a situation where students fall behind in their learning. If there is anything we can do to help support you, please let us know. We track student attendance and will communicate with families if a student's attendance falls below 90%.
